[UPDATED]
WMO03008, Fair Isle

Given as 59 31 35N 01 37 39W
Altitude 57 metres

Likely to be Class 1 or 2.

Class 1 if the track/road is not classified as grass or typical

Class 2 otherwise, on area of annulus 30 metres / 10 metres

Detail work by Talkshop contributor Caz (see comments) has unearth what is a new station. Looks to me like the concrete pile and wind mast was installed first, it is on the older images, confirming the location.

Bing and Google have similar images.

There is a white object, without a fence in what might be a stock area, seems unlikely, he says sheepishly.

This was quite a tough one to solve as I’m now convinced that the station is just about brand spanking new and is not viewable on Google or OS but Bing has captured it Aerial view which appears to be more up to date than birds eye view.

I still haven’t sussed how to post a Bing map link so will explain where the station is long hand.

Picture of it taken April this year. The mast in the distance, the buildings in the foreground, the track and the distinct shape of the path within the weather station compound are the clues.

The station is sited here but Google Earth is out of date and does not show it.

Look at the same positon with Bing and the Station is imaged.
