A Black day, “Farewell and thanks for reading”

Richard Black is leaving the BBC. I pick up on the word elsewhere “resigned” but that is not what he writes.

“Farewell and thanks for reading

This is my last entry for this page – I’m leaving the BBC to work, initially, on ocean conservation issues…”

h/t WUWT and “Pat”

Please keep things sensible and polite.

He has gone from there, why we do not know and probably never will. Certainly the revealations about his underhand dealings will have done him harm, he seemed to get sidelined, perhaps subtly pushed.

I have done contract work for the BBC, it was riddled with horrible people (not all of course) with the good ones ejected. Knowing the inside I see.

I suppose it is easy to blame but there again a bad regime, culture, tends to corrupt everyone including selecting new employees who fit. Sad thing about monster organisations.

One of the mysteries with Black was his background. Maybe we will find out if he has to start revealing.

Also worth keeping in mind Black for all his faults might have been deeply hurt including his family if he has one (I gather he has a missus). done his stint, move on.

An astute move into ‘ocean acidification’ I suspect.

That is sad. We all knew where Richard was coming from and could weigh his reports accordingly.

Can we say that about who will take over ?

You beat me to it :)

How do you move into ocean acidification , I wonder ?

With as much decorum and as straight a face as you can muster I should think.

    A sad loss (sarc).
I see he is following his (green) dream.
Quite the best place for him, his propaganda potential will be greatly reduced.
