@estheraddley Chris #Huhne pleads guilty to perverting the course of justice

The charge relates to an incident in March 2003 when Mr Huhne’s car was allegedly caught by a speed camera on the motorway between Stansted Airport in Essex and London.

It is alleged that between 12 March and 21 May 2003, Ms Pryce, 60, from Clapham in south London, falsely informed police that she was the driver of the car so Mr Huhne could avoid prosecution.

His change of plea came as his trial was due to begin at Southwark Crown Court.

BBC chief political correspondent Norman Smith said: “We can safely say that his political career is over.”

Guilty. Told you he was a lying scumbag. @ChrisHuhne

Judge “He should be under no illusions about the prospect of his sentence”. #Huhne

George was raided a fortnight after I was under the same anti-terrorist powers.

    One can but wonder….

  5. I think I can feel the force of the smiles of 20 million tormented British motorists as they hear the news.

But irony would have only been fully served if that black tarpaulin (visible in some of these photos @ http://www.thisisnorthdevon.co.uk/Sabotage-rumours-follow-Bradworthy-wind-turbine/story-18011368-detail/story.html) had actually been Huhne’s tent, camping on the Moors during his last week of freedom. Not that I wish the man physical harm; just his tent.

Quite ironic timing, best way to bury bad news is on the day when the good news is being unburied…

Huhne reporting restrictions lifted. Wait till you read the text messages sent from his son, Peter. Would have convicted him without doubt.

    Local paper reports…

One couple has just come to ask Echo reporter Julian Robinson in court what all the fuss was about.

Julian said that it was Chris Huhne.

    There were blank faces.

    “Who?” they replied.

“Chris Huhne, the former energy secretary,” said Julian.

“Never heard of him,” came back the response.

Apart from this one relevant txt from Chris Huhne’s son Peter, which appears on guido fawkes site, but not in the telegraph article reporting on the ones Huhne had read out to the court to try to gain sympathy. How curious…

“PH: We all know that you were driving and you put pressure on Mum. Accept it or face the consequences. You’ve told me that was the case. Or will this be another lie?”

FOR THOSE WHO FIND THE GLEEFUL MOCKERY DISTASTEFUL

    ***DO NOT READ***

It is Huhne’s first night in prison. He is sharing a cell with a 250lb hulk in for grievous bodily harm.
The lights go out and after a few seconds Huhne hears a low voice from the lower bunk, ‘tonight, Chris, me and you are gonna play mummies and daddies…so do you wanna be mummy or daddy ?’
Huhne, terrified but thinking fast says, ‘I think I would rather be daddy’
‘Lovely’, comes the reply, ‘Now, daddy, get down here and suck mummy’s cock’.

The judge has given the Vicky Price (ex Mrs Huhne) jury the boot. Retrial next Monday.

“This is not jury misconduct, this is not irregularity, this is a jury which has not, it appears, understood its function,” he added.

Now we know what the Constance Brisco angle is. Judge in the dock?

  20. tchannon says:

I was amused to listen to a legal veteran to do with the judge’s opinion over the questions.

The vet. was having trouble hiding amusement and not shredding the judge excessively over a current case. He said he had seen more and more extreme, is nothing particularly unusual in the questions or number but the judge’s action was.

Guido leads to the D Telegraph, ouch!

Briscoe is a judge who was arrested and is on police bail.

“Prosecutor Andrew Edis QC today read jurors a statement from Detective Inspector Martin Passmore explaining why certain people had not been called as witnesses in the case.

It said: “Ms Briscoe has provided statements to the police in this case but during the investigation it became apparent that she may have lied about her involvement with the press and that she denied having any contact with the Mail on Sunday or any other media organisation in relation to this story.”

    and

“Miss Briscoe, one of the first black women to sit as a judge in Britain, lives a few doors down from Pryce and Huhne’s marital home in Clapham, south London and has been friends with them for many years.”

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9894918/Judge-Constance-Briscoe-arrested-for-lying-to-police-about-role-in-exposing-Chris-Huhne.html

This whole case is of very little interest as such except for the surrounding fruit cakes.

  21. oldbrew says:

She and/or Pryce might be living near to Huhne again before too long, but not in Clapham ;-)
