Seasons Greetings from a cold and snowy UK. This year’s Christmas card is a satellite photo of the UK, which says it all:

Stay safe and warm wherever you are, and have a great time over the winter holiday.
Cheers

Here in NE Oregon, our turn in the Barrel’s coming by next week. The Polar Express had picked up a few extra cars in Siberia and it’s heading south…
Merry Christmas to all!
I have a meter and a half of snow before winter started here with record breaking snow in the area in Ontario, Canada.
Merry Christmas to All and to all a good night!!!
Expect to hear about flooding in Ireland (maybe), England and Scotland as rain melts snow, a blast of jetstream.
Few days of that and assuming the models are right we then get east winds. As usual the models mess up when there is blocking so the jetstream has been coming for some time, actually stalled west of Ireland.
No guarantee it will move but seems likely.
Based on US models, not Met Office, this is privately done and interesting stuff

Usually some magnificant photos on the home page there.

Wow!….the changing magnets of the earth´s homopolar motor will change our future!
Hi Roger, here”s a quick thanks for running a cool blog and to wish you ATVB for a very happy Christmas.
We’re enjoying the frozen snow and -4C temps here in Sunny Sussex.
@Adolfo – is it a motor or a dynamo??? I still can’t decide how the system operates.
Hey Tenuc,
Thanks, and I hope you are having a merry christmas too. I bet you are, since you can’t spell your own email address at the moment. 😉
…LOL…:-))
Wondered why the moderation message came up!
You’re not wrong Roger – started Christmass Eve and haven’t been sober since… Good job it only comes once a year.

Tenuc: At times a freely rotating device can act as a motor or a dynamo depending if it lags or leads in the local fields. Energy in or energy out as the magnetic fields try to remain in balance. Energy is stored as angular momentum (AM) or dissipated as heat ( LIR?)
Once magnetic fields are set in motion, they behave as if they are super conductors of electro- motive- force (emf) energy or seen as having inertia, momentum. The sun is the prime mover as it has most of the AM of the system and is the strongest originator of magnetic fields. Even the sun can lag or lead the system and be slightly sped up or slowed down or have its’ magnetic fields increased or decreased as the “load changes”. pg
A better New Year to all and I pray you all are having a grand holiday season. It has been a great pleasure to converse with every one here over the last year and I look forward to the next. pg
[Raises glass of Irish single malt to Tenuc] Cheers mate.
PG, thanks for all your input here over the last year, you have an original mind and a great vision for electrickery on a vast scale. Just a point though, the Sun has 98% of solar system mass, but only 2% of the Angular Momentum. I think this may be why the big outer planets have a feedback effect on the Sun via the barycentre wobble. The inner planets have an electromagnetic effect on the Sun via thei disturbance of the field in my conjecture.
And a Merry Christmas back at ya, Tallbloke
Cheers Bob, and a huge thanks from all of us for the brilliant oceanic analyses you’ve been providing us with over the last year.

Wires are vertical with respect to the ground. Vuk knows more about it, however how does the earth spin? (we should test it for alcohol… 🙂 )
Quick, get stamps buy cards! Do we have any wrapping paper?!
Oh well, Happy New Year then 😀
Heh. Happy Holidays Zeke. 🙂
