The Secrecy surrounding the MET’s severe weather warning to the cabinet office which never got to the public deepens. Now the cabinet office refuses to confirm or deny whether they conveyed the MET weather warning to the appropriate agencies such as highways, local government transport executives etc.
After my none to successful attempt to wring information from my local M.P. Benny Peiser of the Global Warming Policy Foundation has taken up the baton and asked a whole bunch of awkward questions of Louise Ellman MP, Chair of the Transport Select Committee.
Get ready for a load of flannel and misdirection from the mawkish minions…
Piers Corbyn of Weatheraction is jubilant, and has a video up on youtube outlining his successful winter forecast.

what a fiasco!
Even if the Met Office did warn the government and if they did ‘pass it on’ nobody downstream would have taken action as the Met Office have cried wolf too many times and have zero credibility left.
Nice dilemma for the government if what has been said is true – do they admit to incompetency or confirm they have no faith in the Met Office! Interesting time for our weak, shaky, useless TorLib alliance government. Sooner they fall apart the better.
And what of Scotland and Wales? Did the Cabinet and Met Office keep its “true” briefing secret to the elected representatives of Scotland and Wales? Did those other parliaments know the “truth” and keep it from their voters?
The secrecy and agendas exposed here are alarming. If Blair really did regret the FOI legislation, and believe that coverups are necessary for what he considered “sensible” government, then we again see how the political elites – like the aristocracy that parliamentary democracy was supposed to replace – believe that human affairs are best served with lies and manipulations. The world will never improve for its inhabitants as long as our leaders are, or are supportive of others who are morally weak and corrupt. The truth will set no one free when its release is used as a private tool or weapon.
No,No: They just didn’t know it. It couldn’t have appeared on the screens of their WII Models.

You have to blame all the revolutions, specially the French revolution for removing the real aristocracies and replacing them with not so enlightened clerks.
Adolfo,
Interesting that 4.5 billion years of history is taken out of climate science.
Current physical changes also do not fit into temperature and are trashed.
Found a cool trail of when evaporation started with the help of wet Ice Ages and the oldest salt mine.

How really old was the oldest salt mine?
The French revolution occurred following two viciously cold winters and food shortages.
No country is more than five meals from revolution. Something the warm bias befuddled British government would be wise to consider.

Good point!, but the ones who wisely make profits from climate are the same names.
BTW, did you know that the Pied Piper of Hamelin & Rats event happened again in 2008?
However this time there was no Pied Piper at Hamelin. 🙂

A very wise observation. One that bureaucrats ignore at their peril. If they are lucky they will be fired, if not shot. The end of the old ways is coming very soon. pg
“May you live in interesting times.”
I’m just listening to Piers Corbyn on Alex Jones radio show now. He forecasts accelerated cooling from this year onwards, a cold wet spring and a wet summer for UK, more extreme events to come. Lunar crossings of the ecliptic seem to figure largely in his work, as well as solar wind and CME’s.
Adolfo,
1.25 billion years is the oldest salt mine.
First wet Ice Age was 2.5 billion years ago. Then dry Ice Ages until 1 billion years ago when they all stayed wet. First Ice Age had to be a meteor hit.
Time frame holds good that evaporation started 1.25 billion years ago and build enough vapour for current wet Ice Ages.
This also means when the planet started, it was not a chemical pool but a great deal of water mixture.
The refusal to comment on Cabinet matters is normal due to Cabinet solidarity and secrecy conventions. Does the 30 year rule still apply in the UK (as in Australia) for public release of Cabinet Minutes and Cabinet Notebooks?
I note Chris Hulne made a Ministerial Statement on Energy Policy on 18 October 2010.
Well that’s ok. If they won’t answer our questions for 30 years, we won’t pay their wages for 30 years. 🙂
Would not a performance based pay by an electorate based annual performance review be a great reform? Sauce for the gander! -:)
You mean we’d all get a red button to push? Sauce everywhere, 10:10 stylee? 🙂
Great idea.
I can see ‘call me Dave’ in his new job now.
“Would you like fries with that sir?”
Are you sure “call me Dave” has the intellect to do such a complex job as the one where he would be required to ask “Would you like fries with that sir?” …?
There have been a string of reports over the last few years telling Government and local government that they need to prepare for warmer winters and warmer conditions generally. As the prime resource on climate and weather in the UK, the Met Office must have been involved and is known to have been involved in these reports. The worthless documents not only cost tax-payers a small fortune to produce but their content has cost us huge sums because they have been pointing in the wrong direction.
We all know why they were biased towards warming and it has nothing to do with weather or climate. There is a political agenda, one which is supported and promoted by the Met Office despite it’s supposed impartiality.
The Met Office has now been well and truly caught out, and this fiasco must not be left to slip away. Recent news items are demonstrating the importance of the issue by the amount of spin being thrown in. A full and independent inquiry into the entire Met Office as an institution from the base up is required.
As it is essentially part of the MoD, you’d think they would be questioning the forecasts – unless of course they get special ones that must be kept secret from the Public.
