WOW!
Nomination into the finals of the 2012 Bloggies was unexpected.
Winning European blog of the year is almost as much of a surprise as…
“I waved the first three in and bid them head through to the sitting room, where there was less of an chill near the woodburner. Then they kept coming, being introduced by the lead detective from Norfolk as they trooped in. I thought I’d been chosen to host the secret policemen’s ball or something.”
Rog is away on holiday, the co-moderator writes:- Roger Tattershall has worked hard on his blog managing to walk a line of tolerance, hopefully showing how discussion of a contentious topic can be done, combined with a shining interest in solar matters.
A year ago, January 2011, right in the award period for 2011,
“I’ve been invited to a climate conference!
The three day workshop is entitled “Conflict Resolution in Climate Science”
This event is being hosted by the European Commission Joint research Centre’s Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.”
Roger is on a short backpack holiday in Spain, asleep I hope and I know he will be sleeping poorly… he admitted to superstition by refusing to write two blog posts, one for winning and one for losing. No worries Rog, I would too.
It’s been a privilege and interesting to be allowed to co-moderate.
I am writing this without direct knowledge of the result but others have posted the winners. Apologies for being unable to thank the runners up, I do not know who came where. To be added.
Last but not least, those who nominated Tallbloke’s Talkshop and then those who took the trouble vote in the final, each one of you played a part, thank you.
Maybe our friend helped
WUWT wins sci/tech,
Climateaudit, Canadian, he has put up a hilarious Gleick post

Tallbloke,
Congratulations from Tempe Arizona! Long may you blog in excellence!
May you enjoy what your efforts have achieved!
Congratulations! You are an inspiration to us all.
A well earned result! Congratulations!! Maybe you should go down to the local constabulary and show them your award when you get. On the other hand, that may not be a good idea! They may confiscate it for three weeks and tell you that you are not being charged with anything!!
When I get a list I’ll put up the results. It’s 03:30am here so it might be tomorrow.
Anyone want to bet on whether Rog manages to get a radio signal? Expect big grins.
Welll done!! In my haste over at WUWT, I missed putting in your name, but I was coming over here anyhow, to put in personally, and well done!
Outstanding!
Clean sweep for climate reality!
Congratulations! A great result. The tide is turning….
Well done. Thoroughly deserved. But are you sure that Roger and Joanne didn’t know about it anyway as they seem pretty relaxed at the moment. He on hols in Spain and she’s sunning herself on the beach.
Meanwhile, others in the Climate Change industry are cracking their knuckles and consulting lawyers.
Congratulations, Tallbloke. There’s a lot of respect for you in the thinking community. All the winners so deserving and we voted for all of you!
Congratulations!
I sent Rog congrats by email seconds after TBT was named.
It is a clean sweep, climate skeptics have won in every category they were nominated in:- 5 for 5
Congratulations from east of the Cascade Crest in the Great State of Washington!
Wow Roger,
You and the other blogs you have helped reshape the international debate for the better. A seriously powerful effect, and done with such demeanor. You and the other winners are a very special group of people.
Congratulations,
Robin
Well Done!
Congratulations.
Congratulations to Tallbloke and all blogs that are trying hard to defend corrrect science
better than the scientific establishment seems capable of doing.
The hope is to stop the deterioration of science in academia and the hope is that faked science promoted by many politicians and organizations can be exposed beyond doubt.
The applications of correct science are what have driven the evolution of societies and mankind and it is worth fighting for to let it stay that way. The blogs aiming at seeking truth and to inform citizens won the prizes.
Roger congratulations on your win. It is well deserved
Congratulations!
Congratulations, Rog & Tim. No surprise to me that you won and nothing more than you deserve for putting in so much effort… 😎
Standing tall !
Congratulations Roger.
Congratulations from a small scent hound in Lincolnshire.
Yay!
Huge thanks to my co-mod Tim who has helped keep this blog on track during my wayward moments with great posts, solid advice and gentle humour.
And another huge thank you to everyone who reads, comments and writes posts for the Talkshop.
I will have more to say from a full size keyboard. 🙂
Well done Tallbloke, congratulations.
Congrats, Tallbloke! A stellar effort as always 🙂
Many MANY congrats Tallbloke!
Well done, Rog and well deserved.
Well done – hearty congratulations.
Heartfelt congrats to Rog, to Tim, and to all of you who’re posting here: you’ve made this win possible because it shows how much people value debates on sciences which isn’t tainted by AGW group think and defaced by endless ad hominems.
That all the science blogs won, from Oz to Canada, and that WUWT won both the annual (again) award and the lifetime award shows clearly that the Gleicks, the smogblogs and the groupie AGW blogs have had their day: nobody reads the stuff they post any longer – except to have a laugh.
This is so brilliant, I frankly don’t know where to put meself …!
Congrats Roger and Tim from sunny North Wales.
Congratulations and well done Roger and his mod team.
Well done to all the regular commentors as well. It takes all to win.
Proud to be a sceptic.
Congratulations tallbloke and troupe! A well deserved award.
Superb! Proves the voting was honest.
But to preserve your exalted status, I suggest getting a co-moderater what kin spell.
“privilage” is pretty feeb.
>:)
[ Thank you, missed that one. –Tim]
Well done Rog, it *is* yours, you started out, you set the style and tone, you set the direction.
I’d forgotten others, easy to do.
The individual(s) who paid for advertisement free hosting before there was fame or notoriety, simply done out of good taste and generosity.
Well done to you for getting the message out there and carrying this day (whatever this day may mean, but it’s a “day” on which the forces of unthinking idiocy did not prevail). This corner of Bendigo salutes you!
Nice one TB !!
mamma mia.. rog…
🙂
Excellent. It certainly leaves the cops warrantless.
Congratulations! Keep the interesting and thought provoking posts coming.
My vote counted for something this time. As we used to say in the Navy BZ (bravo zulu).
Congratulations Roger and Tim. Send a copy to the Cops who raoded and have one delivered to the Magistrate that signed the order!
Totally deserved and justified , well done Roger
Neil and Mrs H
What wonderful natural variations 2011 brought to our mysterious solar system and our beautiful upper atmosphere as we orbited our variable star, Sol. (:
Congratulations on the 20 dollars and 12 cents. Hope you spend it in Spain, they need all the help they can get after mandating all of that solar and wind.
Congratulations! Well done Tallbloke, it was richly deserved.
Keep up the good work.
W^3
Excellent! Well deserved! But being invited to a climate conference, I suppose that means you have been corrupted by the (ig)noble cause, and henceforth are to be disregarded for truth, honesty and technical integrity: public acclaim has now infiltrated your ability act with 100% Gleickness (the reference level of trustworthiness).
I think I’m supposed to put a /sarc in here for our less intellectual foes.
A great result!
When someone finds themselves in the firing line for just being open minded, we all have to recognise this is someone is special!
Someone who deserves our support!
Roger ,
Mrs H has pointed out that this is just the first step to world domination, and “Worlds best car park attendant” is yours for the taking !!!!
Keep safe !
Roger, Congratulations. Richly deserved! Ray

Get a grip, when we want you to bark we’ll rattle your chain.
Congratulations indeed Rog,
I may have something interesting soon after your return.
greg;
It was a word-play on “acorn”, which is–perhaps you were unaware–a nut.
Please don’t project your witless humourlessness onto others, much less pretend to speak for them.
