Airspace radar, Civil/Mil.

Detail: image of Stevenson screen in photo is diagonally aligned on building, aerial image seems to match.

    The Stevenson screen is shown in this picture. To the right of the measurement platform, doesn’t look very white in that light.

    I wonder how long the platform has been there. I don’t remember seeing it when I walked past the top on the Pennine way in 1976.

    That platform wasn’t there when I visited in 1986, when I nailed a temporary dipole to one of the wooden CAA towers that used to stand there. In fact, the platform looks as if it has been constructed from the timbers from those old wooden masts.
