The charge relates to an incident in March 2003 when Mr Huhne’s car was allegedly caught by a speed camera on the motorway between Stansted Airport in Essex and London.
It is alleged that between 12 March and 21 May 2003, Ms Pryce, 60, from Clapham in south London, falsely informed police that she was the driver of the car so Mr Huhne could avoid prosecution.
His change of plea came as his trial was due to begin at Southwark Crown Court.

I was amused to listen to a legal veteran to do with the judge’s opinion over the questions.
The vet. was having trouble hiding amusement and not shredding the judge excessively over a current case. He said he had seen more and more extreme, is nothing particularly unusual in the questions or number but the judge’s action was.

Briscoe is a judge who was arrested and is on police bail.
“Prosecutor Andrew Edis QC today read jurors a statement from Detective Inspector Martin Passmore explaining why certain people had not been called as witnesses in the case.
It said: “Ms Briscoe has provided statements to the police in this case but during the investigation it became apparent that she may have lied about her involvement with the press and that she denied having any contact with the Mail on Sunday or any other media organisation in relation to this story.”
