From the Daily Mail:
Disgraced former minister Chris Huhne was paid to appear on the BBC, apparently in breach of the corporation’s own editorial guidelines, it has emerged.
The former energy secretary, who still has to wear an electronic tag after being released early from his sentence, is thought to have received around £150 plus travel expenses to conduct an eight-minute interview last week.
He told presenter Andrew Neil he was prosecuted and jailed merely to provide a ‘deterrent effect’ to others.
‘It wasn’t a question of changing my character. It was actually about stopping people like you, Andrew, from doing the same thing and swapping speeding points… That was why the prosecution was brought. I had not offended for ten years on this,’
TB – Comment. Well, apart from continuing to pervert the course of justice and waste large amounts of public money by lying at every turn right up to the final court appearance of course.
He was ostensibly invited on to the Sunday Politics programme to discuss energy policy, but spent several minutes talking about his sentence. The BBC’s editorial guidelines clearly forbid paying ex-convicts for talking about their crimes.

You ain’t nothin but a Huhne dog
Lyin all the time.
You ain’t nothin but a Huhne dog
Lyin all the time.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.
When they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
When they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
You ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

After reading the Daily Mail link I ended up on their science page where I read this gem about Branson’s proposal to fly in ‘orbit’ to Sydney:
“By launching its craft into orbit, Virgin Galactic will be able to harness the power of gravity to travel at extremely high speeds.”
What goes up, must come down.
Branson has found himself in a pickle on several ballooning trips ignoring this simple physics.
Lest we forget, Chris Huhne Day is February 4th.
Serial liar, Huhne, should still be in clink.
Letting slime like him out early has no deterrent effect.
Lieing come so naturally to the greens.
The Huhnatic is frozen out….
…There comes another. Be Afraid, Be very afraid!
So Huhne is saying that he is basically without fault, but had to be sacrificed to stop Andrew Neil from perverting the course of justice, because Andrew Neil would do that if it wasn’t for Huhne?
Nice one Fen
Huhne appeared on Channel 4 news last night. I had to change channels quickly as I can’t afford to replace my tv . I really should remove heavy objects from nearby before watching the news.
