Not content with with swatting large number of endangered birds and bats with wind turbines, the ‘sustainable’ green, environmentally conscious energy business has added a novel new method of killing avian species, as reported by the Australian news website:

There have been reports that birds have been scorched and killed at The Ivanpah Solar Electric Power Plant. Image credit: news.com.au
A new giant solar farm in the American Mojave Desert has reportedly been scorching birds as they fly through the extremely hot ‘thermal flux’.
After years of debate around the impact on desert wildlife, the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System officially opened on Thursday (13/2) but environmental groups say the 350,000 gigantic mirrors are generating nearly 540 degree temperatures which are killing and scorching birds.
According to documents released by developer BrightSource Energy last year, dozens of birds were found to be injured at the site when it was getting built.State and federal officials are currently embarking on a two-year study of the plant to see its damage to birds, with environmental groups questioning the value of cleaner power when local wildlife is being killed in the process.

*!$&^%*!!! More ‘green’ energy? ‘BLOOD’ energy it seems. I’d better not meet a greenie before I’ve calmed down.
Linked on PH Rog 🙂
thanks Guam, one of my more inspired post titles I thought. 😉
As I understand it, if I were to harm an endangered species in any way I could go to jail. Yet this “green” abomination can seemingly kill any bird that flies over without anything happening to them. Apparently all are equal in the U.S. but some are more equal than others. (h/t Orwell)
No doubt a posse of pumped-up ‘environmental activists’ will be pitching up there soon to get the place shut down 😉
Now all they need is a group of wind turbines at the same place and they could get the birds chopped and crispy fried. Must be a fast-food oppurtunity for some green entreprenuer …
