Nothing is too silly to print when it comes to climate propaganda, it seems.

The idea they want to put in people’s heads is that even breathing is a ‘danger to the planet’, so faster breathing…you get the idea.

Does the marathon hasten climate change?

We can’t say ‘you couldn’t make it up’ because someone just did.

Breathing itself is a bad habit. I am confident they are developing services that can support you to quit. It can be accomplished in less than half an hour. The only thing you are expected to do in advance is to arrange for safe sequestration of the body, to be put into an airtight container, in an abandoned coal mine. Collateral advantage is you are no longer expected to pay taxes.

Hah! Been saying this for years. Population when I was born was about 2 billion, now passed 7 billion, each person breaths out about 800 grams CO2 per day. Do the math! And that is without running marathons. I wanted to work out how many persons per SUV for an average mileage of say 10,000 miles per year but lost heart.
Anyone ever worked out what a 77 tonne dinosaur breathed out CO2 wise?

    It’s a double-whammy Oldbrew.

The other side of the coin was research carried out by Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, which tried to link obesity with ‘global warming’.

The fact that their researchers chose to ignore the fact that the obese tended to to be more lethargic and had a shorter life-expectancy, so exhaled less CO2 than fitness-fanatics, was not not included in their calculations!

They forgot to say if your history is that of a lean mean marathon runner you might live longer, so exhaling even more CO2. It just goes from bad to worse 😉

  6. Berényi Péter says:

It is time to make running illegal except for runners powered by solar panels or wind.

  7. oldbrew says:

A tax on breathing might do it.

Why pick on long distance runners when spectator sport short distance events involve vast numbers of onlookers having gotten there or as bad are using remote viewing?

Thing is that done right long distance runners can be given their own route to follow and take speculating to the homes of the spectators. No need to go out, we come to you.

I’ve suggested this to Royal Mail, combine with letter delivery, no pay wanted, automatic proof of waypoint. Oi, didn’t get my letter.

Having read the article, I actually find it quite difficult to decide whether the author is taking the pi$$ or not. He almost sounds like he is capable of understanding or criticising some of the facts he is is passing on.

However, he does get one bit 100% correct:
“Does it matter? The short answer: no.”
But I expect he did have to write an article for a deadline.

I pleased to say I learned something new to me, and feel almost ashamed that I didn’t already:
“An average person can produce 1.5 to 2 liters of gas per day and passes flattus 15 to 18 times daily. Most gas produced in the colon is hydrogen.”

‘Having read the article, I actually find it quite difficult to decide whether the author is taking the pi$$ or not.’

But it’s still an attempt at brainwashing and deserves to be nailed as such.
