The UK Met Office forecast for things they choose, such as Arctic sea ice extent but seem completely silent on Antarctica or even handedly dealing with both of pairs of extremes.
Ah well, wait a month or two… forecasting is better after the event IYSWIM

It is possible the file dates do not reflect change in the documents.
NSIDC announcement for 2014 page here (where NSIDC also acknowledge the Antarctica extreme)
Is this acceptable?
Issuing a new forecast so close to the end date strikes me as a very odd thing to do. Must be a reason.

How does the cooling system of the Earth? Here is an example: visible over Canada low will effectively mix warm and cold air. Such a circulation in winter effectively cools the air in the mid-latitudes.

Exactly so it looks.

As in the Arctic ice may disappear when the temperature at a height of 3500 meters so quickly drops in autumn?

Let’s see the current temperature for 2 m. Clearly visible a dipole.

Let’s look on the temperature the ocean to the south.

You are being very generous to our erstwhileAGW members, Roger. “It is possible the file dates do not reflect change in the documents.”
It looks like the first time they have made an entry like this. On MAISIE it dropped to 5.1 m.
Mind you, the UK Met off have still not accknoledge the increase in northern ice or the recent increase in northern snow or the record ice in the southern hemisphere. The poor little darlings must be wetting themselves with excitement.
Remember Roger, earlier this year, I said to you that you, UKIP, have the future of europe in your hands and I said don’t let us down ? Well you haven’t. Well done the lads.
Incidently, you gotta love their ranges. Like throwing darst at the side of a barn from 1 foot away.
Seems cyclical………..not a trend over such a short period of time really.
I think our useless MO are probably just wanting to spin their lousy record of predicting any long-term weather/climate event by doing a final one just days before the event happens. Their Winter 2013/14 forecast was yet another total failure…
“Winter 2014
Prediction: The Met Office told councils and the Environment Agency to expect “drier than usual” winter. The Met Office said to expect “a significant reduction in precipitation compared to average” for most of the country, adding that there was only a 15 per cent chance the winter would fall into the “wettest category”.
Reality: Wettest winter since records began with some of the most severe flooding Britain has seen in decades. The UK was drenched in 19.2in of rain from December to February, making it the wettest winter since records began in 1910.”

Why you shouldn’t rely on a Met Office forecast

Their poor performance would be laughable, if they didn’t cost us long-suffering tax payers so much money.
hear hear…….
When questions of the Met Office arise I am always minded to ask; what is the Met Office for? And is the Met Office value for money for the tax-payer?
Maybe they should be on payment by results?
I’m sure that also the in October the ice around Antarctica will be a record. This means further cooling of the southern ocean.
http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/antarctic.sea.ice.interactive.html
Abdusamatov now expects the next peak of solar activity, which is already visible. This will increase the speed of jet stream in the stratosphere and the rapid growth of ice. Can be beaten in October record of global ice.

Hi Tallbloke,
Just been reading Miles Mathis and using NASA data has sorted how the solar cycles work, as you and your people here have been connecting the large planets to the cycle and been labeled as astrologers, he has connected them as the cause. Cheers
I can be an astrologer, if the forecast works.
OT

Recently in Central Africa a prehistoric stone carved statue of a lion with what looks like a human baby was excavated. Carbon dating shows that its age is several million years.
fascinating ? ( 🙂 )
You got it: Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko as seen by Rosetta’s camera.
