Oldbrew: The Scottish renewable energy show rumbles on

The Scottish renewable energy show rumbles on…

Scotland’s top judge calls for new ‘energy court’ to handle renewables and shale gas disputes’ (Jan. 29, 2015)

But that idea may already be running out of…er, gas:
The Scottish government has announced a block on planned fracking operations, pending further inquiries. (Jan. 28, 2015)

Meanwhile the RSPB has put the wind up offshore renewable energy developers with legal action.
Now some major projects will be held up for months at least.

‘RSPB Scotland sent shockwaves through the sector in Scotland earlier this month after a last-minute move to seek judicial review of Mr Ewing’s decision to grant consents for the Neart na Gaoithe, Inch Cape and Seagreen Alpha and Bravo arrays.’

  1. oldbrew says:

Er…Alex Salmond doesn’t run Scotland any more 😉

But his renewables hatchet job continues without him.

  2. tallbloke says:

    “Historic wrecker” indeed.

  3. oldbrew says:

Galloway wind farm plan bites the dust after energy giant EDF pulls out.

‘Dropping all intention to develop the 18-turbine farm near Barrachan Village, EDF Energy Renewables claimed in a statement that the site was “no longer technically viable”.’

Nothing to do with strong local opposition then?

  4. AlecM says:

The SNP is a National Socialist Party modelled initially on the German NSDAP. A prominent member of the SNP was interned in WWII.

The 200 businessmen behind Salmond used him to establish a Renewables’ Corporatist, Fascist State akin to Mussolini’s Italy which morphed from Syndicalist to Fascist in a decade.

The aim was to export wind power to England at >2x Grid Price, then when the wind didn’t blow, import English nuclear and fossil power at 1x Grid price.

Sturgeon has gone back to Socialism but is really like Merkel, incredibly blinkered. The end game is that the Scots’ Grid if it were separate could not work without the English Grid subsidising it both economically and to take surges.

Already, the English Grid has to cut off Scottish wind power and subsidise the land owners. Soon, the English voters will rebel at this imposition along with Barnett.

I suspect moves are being made by our hidden establishment to control the Fascists who have used the Green and Renewables’ movement to transfer capital from industry to landed estates and windmills.

In essence, it comes down to brave Establishment Leaders like Ridley and various Earls who have not created wind arrays, to act as a front for the real scientists showing there is near zero CO2-AGW, fake science created in 1981 by the Hansen Group for political purposes.

  5. oldbrew says:

Local communities forced to arm-wrestle with Big Wind and often lose are unlikely to be impressed by their political rulers, one would imagine.

  6. roger says:

Dumfries and Galloway has been carpeted with wind carbines to such an extent that even the last remaining Conservative MP in the area has been shamed into crying enough.
The visual vandalisation can be seen around every corner in the sea and landscape of this once beautiful underpopulated area.
The bill for the damage to marine, anadromous and terrestial wildlife has yet to be quantified.

  7. diogenese2 says:

The action of RSPB is deliciously ironic considering , in partnership with Ecotricity, they wish to erect a windmill at their Bird Sanctuary Headquarters (google RSPB – The Lodge – Sandy).
Ah but then I suppose, RSPB (Scotland) have a completely different constitutional objective.
