I am Under “Investigation”

Roger Pielke Jr gets the McCarthy treatment for daring to point out that the insurance payouts for natural disasters don’t correlate with (non)changes in the frequency of ‘extreme weather’.

The Climate Fix

As some of you will already know, I am one of 7 US academics being investigated by US Representative Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) who is the ranking member of the House of Representatives Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. Rep. Grijalva has sent a letter to the president of my university requesting a range of information, including my correspondence, the letter is here in PDF.

Before continuing, let me make one point abundantly clear: I have no funding, declared or undeclared, with any fossil fuel company or interest. I never have. Representative Grijalva knows this too, because when I have testified before the US Congress, I have disclosed my funding and possible conflicts of interest. So I know with complete certainty that this investigation is a politically-motivated “witch hunt” designed to intimidate me (and others) and to smear my name.

For instance, the Congressman and his staff, along with compliant journalists…

This can be easily explained: the Democrats doing this inquiry must have their own facts😉

This is disgusting and coming from Obama himself.
He must be worried about up coming Republican Investigations.

First question, who bought this Congressman and what do they have to hide? It is fairly obvious that the congress critter is running interference for someone else in the green blob, the big question is who?

Roger, are you yourself under investigation? Even in the weird UK, That cannot be done upon a candidate for political office! Just asking!

Will: All parliamentary candidates are checked out by the spooks in Britain. I have nothing to hide.

  11. The President of the U.Colorado should write a quotation for expenses and an estimate of the time required to perform the tasks requested along with a note that research outcomes aren’t determined by the source of funding but the data used in the analysis. And that it would be disrespectful of the University and foolish to think otherwise.

The term “spooks” is similar to the term “idiots”. If you think you have something “idiot” proof, You truly have no concept of our idiots!

  13. P.S. The letter seems to lack specifying under which law(s) the information is to be provided. An elected member has no more investigative powers than an ordinary citizen. They may direct an authority to investigate if they hold a position that allows them to direct that authority.

If information is requested under FReedom of Information legislation; then so must it be stated.

The Dim.Rep’s fishing expedition must be exposed for what it is, along with his attitude towards due process.

The United States have been formed to disobey an authority of an English king. Now you can be investigated if a congressman (associated with a Communist Party) dislikes your facts. And the President can parade you as a denier at http://www.barackobama.com if you disobey him.

[As an aside the practical deification of Randy Rajendra down the page is hilarious in light of recent developments. Small beer though.]

The most telling quote by the jackboot Rohm is the incredulity that Pielke can say

“I respect [John Christie],” Pielke says. “I disagree with him, but I respect him.”

Quite a healthy attitude one would have thought. But no. Encapsulated beautifully in the Celebrity Big Brother house, leftie ‘mother’ Nadia could not tolerate Katie Hopkins because of her views, whilst Katie had no problem with opposing views and in fact relished them. Manners, tolerance, respect for another human being? Nah, you’re a despicable human being because I disagree with you and I’m going to shout you down because I am so ‘open minded and tolerant’. Anyway away from my guilty TV pleasure…

A clearer picture could not be painted that it never was and never will be about observational science, it’s about contorting science to adhere to your world view. My political BS detector came alive with the grasping for excuses as to why it had got so bloody cold and snowed so bloody much back during the winters of the last solar minimum (09/10 especially) – not to mention that ‘d****rs’ weren’t quite the science lepers I was led to believe by the intolerant class. Out came the excuses and the amnesia towards past polar prophesies was palpable (David Viner really should be Knighted for his services to giving many of the populace the Red Pill). Almost immediately from that winter it was not that hard for me to recognise what Chomsky and Herman refer to in their propaganda model as flak, but what I see as green flak. As Wiki puts it ” targeted efforts to discredit organizations or individuals who disagree with or cast doubt on the prevailing assumptions”. Worth reading the model as it has resonance today and a delicious sense of irony when you realise Chomsky swallows the Blue Climate pill (or he doesn’t want to alienate his audience).

I am more of the understanding that the fanatical zealots in the movement have no respect for anyone and are unlikely to be saved by logic or compassion. That’s why they shout and scream to drown out anyone and delight in smearing excrement on anyone who disagrees – or they perceptive disagrees – with them. These are the brown shirts, the pitchfork wielding effigy burining rent-a-mob, the two minute-haters, conscienceless compliant enablers who denounce on cue never wondering why someone is pulling their marionette strings. Every dictatorships needs obedient pets.

The AGW movement have lost on the science but the Schmidt’s, Holdren’s, Rohm’s, Gillis’s, Slingo’s, Nuttercelli’s, Cook’s, Lewandowski’s, Moonbat’s and Lean’s are winning in the propaganda war by the sheer volume of effluent they produce. These urban psychopaths (i.e empathy with the human race is not one of their finer points) are getting more and more emboldened with their take downs and shakedowns, which is not surprising with a POTUS like Zero who creates and destroys laws as he pleases – “f*** your democracy, f*** your constitution it’s for the keeeeeeds” – and with the lickspittle’s in the media sallying whenever a half baked turd of a paper is presented. Why because it’s about the agenda and the agenda is set by defecating on everything then proclaiming you are like King Midas because of your transformative touch.

This really is turning into purge on dissent from the party line, a Many Nights of the Long Knives – Lennart Bengtsson, PRP, Patterson, Soon, Pielke…

Scientists across the board in all disciplines really need to speak out and fast because the message is frighteningly clear – step out of line, don’t produce the results they want and you are next. The pace quickens. Being a card carrying leftie – a bonus …for now – won’t save you, you are just another cog in a brutal, ugly machine. You are so busy worrying about the right jackboot ‘oppressing you’, you cannot see the left one aimed at your head.

That is not the future I want for my children or grandchildren. Hansen can afford to buy jackboots for his spawn. I can’t and I won’t. I am not a denier although with my last breath I will take your jackboots and shove them somewhere to stop the constant stream from your arseholes. I am just a human being and it’s about time these monumental anuses realised they are too.

First they came for the Sceptics, and I celebrated —
Because I was not a Sceptic and the planet hating b*$t@rds had it coming with their ‘anti-science’.
Then they came for the Lukewarmers, and I did not speak out—
Because Lukewarmers got in the way of ‘the true science’ of saving us from thermageddon.
Then they came for the Activists, and I did not speak out—
Because I am a government scientist and I only used the schmucks for convenience.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The irony is that Pielke Jr. is a leftard The use of McCarthy, a relatively honest American fighting to root out the commies in our government who was destroyed by the same types that are now going after PJr., Curry and others, shows his ignorance of what he has been backing for most of his life.

Now that he has irritated the beast it may very well eat him, or at least leave him smeared and damaged goods as they did with McCarthy. I note that he is withdrawing from the conflict.
