Judy Curry grasps the nettle of the ideological bias that has skewed climate science.

Climate Etc.

by Judith Curry

The main intellectual fault in all these cases is failing to be responsive to genuine empirical concerns, because doing so would make one’s political point weaker or undermine a cherished ideological perspective. – Heather Douglas

‘fabrication of data to further one’s scientific career’ – like this…??

“Unzicker clearly thinks that the majority of physics is mankind’s greatest achievement: but uniquely for a physicist, he has the honesty and integrity to admit that a sizeable portion of recent physics is either highly dodgy or complete nonsense.”

Unfortunately JC’s unable to recognize the implications of observed sun-climate axial structure — and thus maintains beliefs about climate chaos that are monstrously at odds with empirical records …so unfortunately I have to call comical hypocrisy …and of course its natural to begin to suspect calculated deception when ignorance of something as simple as 1+1=2 persists for so long. The unwavering ignorance is more than a little creepy.

Paul V: I don’t doubt Judy Curry’s integrity. Sh is simply unwilling to enter speculative realms concerning disciplines in which she has no expertise. Stadium Wave tells us she recognises cycles. She is just unwilling to commit to any particular theory of their origin.

I still think she and Marcia have LOD at the wrong end of the wave though.

Whohe, A exact response of a politician desperately trying to piss off no one!🙂

    Very nice and thoughtful!

“I still think she and Marcia have LOD at the wrong end of the wave though..”

    Roger,
No waves, only “time” and its complex conjugate, ‘minus cycles per “time interval”‘!
Ask for any more of my speculation! My head hurts!

Thanks for the Unzicker link oldbrew.

As for Curry, I suppose she’s trying in difficult circumstances. Haven’t been to her site since she dropped the ‘old white male’ PC trifecta.

Will, I’ve met Judy Curry twice, spending some hours in both formal and informal discussion with her. That was long enough to be able to offer an informed judgement.

M Simon: LOD = Length of Day. The rate the Earth spins at varies, due to various factors.

Chaotically enough, the monstrously uncertain can’t tell black-&-white proof from grey speculation.
