Update from Martin Durkin’s team at WAG TV, with lots of links and a mention for the Talkshop!

We’ve said it before but we can’t really say it enough: THANK YOU all so very, very much for making BREXIT THE MOVIE a reality!

We’ve been amazed and truly honoured by the enthusiasm and support for this project. In total, we’ve raised an incredible £114,000 from a total of 1,685 backers.

But there’s no time to sit back and reflect on our success – BREXIT THE MOVIE is racing full steam ahead! We’re off to Newcastle on Wednesday, with shoots in Brussels and Switzerland also coming up very soon. Green screens and studio spaces are hired, and we’ve started hoarding reams of paper (but you’ll have to wait to find out why…..)

BREXIT THE MOVIE will be released in the first week of May– exact date TBC soon! Following the Premiere, the film will be online for the world to watch the very next day.

So much of the success of this project has relied on the help and promotion of others. So here’s a look back at the whirlwind month of the BREXIT THE MOVIE Kickstarter – from launching into the unknown and our very first (£5) pledge, to appearing in front of 2,000 people and smashing through our funding threshold!

ROUNDUP:

Our launch was covered by the troublemakers at Guido Fawkes (who also very kindly gave over some advertising space for us) providing our campaign a lovely early boost, as well as in CityAM here and here (with some more coverage from them again here and here!)

BREXIT THE MOVIE’S Director Martin Durkin appeared on the Daily Politics with Andrew Marr and on RT, published a piece on CapX, and recorded a podcast with the Institute of Ideas. We also got a very supportive write-up on Conservative Home – and a not-so nice one (misspelt, naturally) in The Grauniad.

Our success in reaching £100k was again covered by Guido and CityAM, as well as the IBTimes and The Telegraph. Not too shabby!

The Brexit campaign groups have been incredibly supportive, too. We’ve had tweets of support from the stars of our trailer and Vote Leave leaders like Dan Hannan and Steve Baker, Leave.EU have helped push our campaign with specially-created tiles on their social media accounts and a shout-out in their newsletter, and Grassroots Out even gave gave Martin the opening plug at their Westminster rally attended by over 2,000 people.

The Campaign for an Independent Britain is an official BREXIT THE MOVIE backer, and two of our producers will be appearing on a Better Off Out panel at the Freedom Festival next weekend.

However, it’s you guys who have been the real stars – sharing our posts and tweets across the interwebs, promoting our campaign on the comment sections of articles, and telling your friends and family about the Kickstarter. We really couldn’t have made it without your help in spreading the word. Some people (like Roger Tallbloke and Robert Kimbell) have really gone above and beyond to push the film and get people pledging – and we love you all so much for it.

REWARDS

It’s time to start thinking about your rewards!

We’ll be sending everyone a message next week to confirm some details: The name you want listed on our website/credits, your address and (if applicable) what size t-shirt you’d like. At this point you can also confirm if you would NOT like to be publicly associated with the project (don’t worry, we won’t be offended!)

We’ll send you your rewards just as soon as we can – with t-shirts and badges coming before the DVDs.

PROMOTING BREXIT THE MOVIE:

We think we’re onto a winner with BREXIT THE MOVIE. We genuinely believe that it can – and hope that it will be – an effective tool in convincing undecided voters to back Brexit.

This means that we want as many people as possible to watch the film. We’re pitching the film to national broadcasters, hosting it online and organizing a series of regional screenings (If you have a location request let us know!) And we’ll be devoting as many extra resources as we can to promoting and distributing the film as widely as possible- (Big news on this coming soon!)

We will be speaking to Vote Leave, Grassroots Out, Leave EU and everyone in between to discuss ways of getting this movie out there – but we’d love to work with people directly, too!

If you’re part of an association or leafleting group and you’d be interested in some BREXIT THE MOVIE materials or organising a screening of the film yourself, please give us a message :)

NEW LOGO!

We thought we’d end with something exciting – the new BREXIT THE MOVIE logo! Expect to see this everywhere in the coming months😉

Let us know what you think!

That’s all for now – but stay tuned, as we’ve got a big announcement coming up shortly – and will have lots of pics of our work in the coming weeks!

As always,
The BREXIT THE MOVIE team x

I am from Australia born and bred over 5 generations all of European Heritage .
So looking in from the outside the UK needs to remove itself from the EU and reclaim UK Sovereignty . I have never known a Country as proud and strong as the UK giving up to the EU .
I understand Cameron can as here in Australia many ex Politicians are desperate to be part of the UN .
In the UK you have Jamie Oliver and Hugh Furnelly Whitingstal campaigning on Fish Fight and Friday night feast about local produce , not EU produce , UK produce .

Why can you not get them to endorse Brexit , If they don`t they are hypocrites and if they do , then
    more power to Brexit .

Ps you can add Gordon Ramsay`s name to that list with the Shark fin series

Hey you donors. Let me know what you want in the way of T-shirt, DVD, pin badge etc. Especially let me know if you can make it to the premiere and need a ticket.

Thanks again for all your support for Martin Durkin’s Brexit The Movie
