Now these ‘campaigners’ know how wind turbine protesters feel when they get overruled in their neighbourhoods.

Anti-fracking campaigners have lost their legal challenge to a decision to allow fracking to take place in North Yorkshire reports BBC News. Third Energy was granted planning permission to extract shale gas at Kirby Misperton in Ryedale in May.

Friends of the Earth and residents had challenged North Yorkshire County Council’s decision in the High Court. Mrs Justice Lang ruled the council had acted lawfully.

Campaigners said they were “devastated” by the decision. Planners had voted 7-4 in favour of the application, despite more than 4,300 objections and only 36 representations of support.

It was the first fracking operation to be approved in England since a ban was lifted in 2012.

Campaigners had claimed in court the county council had not considered the impact on climate change and had not put provision in place for money to fund any remedial works.

The US fracking boom is not going away…

Hydraulic fracturing generated $3.5 trillion in new wealth between 2012 and 2014 in spite of falling oil prices, according to a new study, but today’s rising prices could be even better for the U.S. economy.

From 2012 to 2014, the shale oil industry generated 4.6 million new jobs due to an energy boom and the resulting low gas prices, according to a study published by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Expensive energy could be a huge net positive for the U.S. fracking economy because rising oil prices mean more drilling.

But it’s well known that US emissions have gone down as a result of fracking.

    This great news.
2016 is looking more and more like the “tipping point” the Climastrologists have been predicting.

But Not the one they wanted.

  3. These idiots don’t realise that planning decisions are based on planning law, not on the number of objectors. They were bound to lose as there were no good grounds for refusal.

US frackers are winning the shale oil war. When the Saudis push the oil price up, the frackers step up their output to take advanatage.
