Heh, from this thread
we were talking about the 1979-2010 trends. As you can see, PDO moved towards a cool phase over that period, as is obvious from trend map

And while we’re on twitter threads, this one’s a beauty!

Gavin Schmidt – undistinguished mathematician. Apparently believes that a probability of 0.38 supported his breathless assertion of “Hottest year EVAH!”.
Not even a scientist. Also an untrained, unqualified, and amateurish wannabe computer programmer, some might say.
Believes that CO2 can be used to make thermometers hotter by some as yet unexplained physical mechanism.
Would you buy a used car from someone like this?
Not hilarious, just sad.
Cheers.
RICHARD LINDZEN: THOUGHTS ON THE PUBLIC DISCOURSE OVER CLIMATE CHANGE
Date: 01/05/17 Prof Richard Lindzen
MIT atmospheric science professor Richard Lindzen suggests that many claims regarding climate change are exaggerated and unnecessarily alarmist.

Lindzen: Of course, if 1998 was the hottest year on record, all the subsequent years will also be among the hottest years on record. None of this contradicts the fact that the warming (ie, the increase of temperature) has ceased.
