CO2 theory says warming should be increasing at an increasing rate, but everyone knows – or ought to know – it isn’t, and that’s been the case for around 20 years now. Yet still the alarm bells are sounded by the usual sources, as if the failed forecasts of the climate models had been true.

I’m glad to see that you’ve given the fine site ‘CO2 is Life’ some exposure here.
If enough people knew just what a tiny percentage of the atmosphere consists of ‘man-made CO2’ (around 0.01%, probably less) we wouldn’t be where we are now, with crazy ‘climate agreements’, ‘tackling climate change’ and all the rest of the nonsense.
“CO2 theory says warming should be increasing at an increasing rate,”
Actually Not.
The theory is pretty simple.
The temperature of the earth system is a function of ALL FORCING over time.
ALL FORCING includes
External forcings: Solar, Volcanic, Aersols, Albedo, GHGS including but not limited to c02
Internal forcings or natural variability
There is nothing in the theory that says warming should be increasing at an increasing rate.
You have to look at the sum of all forcings.
which, you havent.
Indeed oldbrew,
But also buried with the heart of the ‘climate change’ idea is that climate per se is a deterministic system that has large measures of predictability. Hence the idea that it can be realistically modeled and forecast.
This, most assuredly, is not the case as this natural system as a whole is a host if many and varying parameters, feedbacks, and loosely coupled elements, mixed with random events (solar, volcanic, and many unknowns). Thus outcomes of changes within this evolving chaotic matrix of effects is unpredictable for the macro (hence all this variable weather), and only marginally better when forecasting the long term (yes there will be another ice-age probably within 300 years from now).

Actually Not.

In that case the word needs to be passed on to climate alarmists everywhere including governments, their agencies, the IPCC, the climate lobby groups, etc.
What is NASA claiming here?
Graphic: The relentless rise of carbon dioxide
Today, we stand on the threshold of a new geologic era, which some term the “Anthropocene”, one where the climate is very different to the one our ancestors knew.
http://climate.nasa.gov/climate_resources/24/
They don’t mention any other reason, or factor, for this so-called “Anthropocene” than CO2.
Another CO2 theory claim:
Atmospheric CO2 is rising at an unprecedented rates. Consequences are profound for earth’s temperatures, climates, ecosystems and species, both on land and in the oceans.

Profoundly wrong then.
