Alan Carlin:  Climate Alarmism Is a Typical Scientific Scam but with Much More Serious Consequences

Alan Carlin argues here that ‘the main justifications offered for climate alarmism are expensive general circulation models, which cost taxpayers many billions of dollars but prove nothing except that garbage in results in garbage out.’ Meanwhile even more fortunes in public money are being spent chasing unattainable ‘climate’ goals.

Climate alarmism is an all too typical scientific scam replete with failure to follow the scientific method and many of the common illogical fallacies going back to Aristotle.

The difference is that its proponents have had almost infinite resources to sell their scam, especially taking into account the “free” media support supplied by the mainstream media.

But scam it nevertheless is since the scammers are benefitting from their efforts.

The consequences of successfully selling the scam in the US, as has occurred in Western Europe, are so large that the US economy would probably never recover its former growth and and resilience. There will always be more decarbonization that can be “achieved.”

Household income would grow little if any. Workers would be condemned to current real income or less for the indefinite future. Electricity would become increasingly unreliable and expensive, as in South Australia.

And without substantial economic growth real estate values and pension liabilities would become even more unsupportable than they already are.

Human caused climate disasters, anger of the gods! the oldest of the religious cults. Loss of the garden of Eden, Great Flood. Sodom and Gomorrah. All caused by wicked humans.
Give over control of your lives and wealth and the priests will intercede and save us all.

Same old, same old crap! Those things actually happened, the present scam is not even based on real events. Just computer projections of could be and might be. Only the scam is real…pg

For what it’s worth… my suspicion is this ‘scam’ is under the direction of powers that we are not aware of. These hidden people not only control the media they control the UN and most world governments. The object of the exercise is world population control. World population has been doubling every 40 years or so. Currently about to exceed 8 billion. This implies a population of around 16 billion by 2060.
Warmer climate on areas of heavy vegetation, think forests, usually brings more rain. Increasing population is reducing the forest coverage especially in places were they are being replaced with biofuels. Increasing population is increasing the size of cities and industrial areas. people need homes, work and food. We live on a limited world.
I personally am unable to believe that ALL government members are too stupid to understand that radiative gasses cool the atmosphere. 99.9% of the atmosphere, nitrogen, oxygen and argon are essentially non radiative. Heat, in a gas restrained by a gravity field, travels upwards.
Currently there seems to be tremendous effort to direct attention away from the coming cold. Solar panels, wind turbines and electric cars don’t work too well when it is snowing.
A lot of people are going to die.

  3. oldbrew says:

Richard – if ‘radiative gasses cool the atmosphere’ and we face ‘the coming cold’, wouldn’t that make reducing such things a good idea 😉

  4. Richard111 says:

Indeed! 🙂 Problem is the coming cold is a long term period event and seems to depend on solar activity and Earth orbit/inclination changes rather than radiative gases in the atmosphere. My suspicion is the powers that be expected SC24 to be at least as active as the previous three solar cycles. This would have been a great help towards the ‘Green Revolution’. As it is, Polar ice has failed to disappear and is increasing, and local temperatures have not raised any real problems so people are tending to ignore the ‘climate change’ propaganda. This is a bad move on the peoples part as the powers that be are forcing the ‘Green Revolution’ to go ahead and undermining power supplies when they will be most needed.
As I said, a lot of people are going to die.

Some interesting stuff about Milankovich and climate change…

I have just torn myself away from getting suckered into a “debate” with warmists on another blog. I asked them to do a simple thing: subtract the raw temperature data from the final data and plot it next to the graph of the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Not one of them will do that but instead throw all kinds of “Look!! Squirrel” stuff at me and say I should read this or that blog.

I worked on weather equipment for some 25 years in the FAA. I know what sort of calibration is done. Each device has a calibration curve/data set to compensate for it’s built in errors. Some instruments have a long term error trend as well as the instrument ages. But when you apply a dynamic adjustment to the entire range of instruments and that adjustment just happens to follow the curve of the CO2 concentration you are cheating, thumb on the scale cheating.

a dynamic adjustment over time to aging instruments would be individualized not applied to the sum of all the instruments or alternatively applied to each and all in the same amount. But that is what is happening in USHCN and GISS

  7. Jamie Spry says:

Reblogged this on Climatism and commented:
“It is time to bring climate alarmism-inspired reductions of CO2 to an end and use the vast resources devoted to it to solve the many unsolved problems that would actually benefit from their use rather than on a non-problem that government can do very little if anything about.”

TIME to divert the taxpayer trillions, wasted on fake fixes to a fake catastrophe, to solving *real* pollution problems.

TIME to stop demonising colourless, odourless, trace gas and plant food “Carbon Dioxide” of which man contributes 3% to nature’s 97%.
