UN’s latest climate summit will rack up a massive CO2 footprint

Another example of how the ‘climate industry’ is out of control. 25,000 attendees sounds more like a sports event.

The thousands who flocked to Germany for the United Nations climate summit will end up, rather ironically, emitting thousands of tons of the very greenhouse gases attendees want to regulate, writes Michael Bastasch at The Daily Caller.

The U.N. admits the “lion’s share of greenhouse gas emissions” associated with their latest climate summit, and up to 25,000 people are expected to attend the U.N. summit in Bonn, which kicked off Monday.

Most attendees will get to Bonn by aircraft, the U.N. said.

Representatives from governments, environmental groups, businesses and media outlets will flood the U.N.’s World Conference Center to discuss, among other things, the 2015 Paris climate agreement on climate change.

While the U.N. has taken steps to power the conference and associated transportation with “clean” energy, most of the emissions associated with the climate summit will come from air travel.

Pierre-Henri Guignard, the secretary general of the 2015 summit, told The New York Times that year that “85 percent of the carbon footprint of the conference is linked to travel by the delegations.”

    From the Daily Caller article:

“All “unavoidable” emissions from the Bonn conference will be offset by the German government.”

This is stated in the blurb (which I’d already read) put out by the organisers. It seems the German government is acting as underwriter for all unavoidable emissions by offsetting them using the ‘accredited’ renewable energy schemes. I have several issues/questions about this:

1- they say they’re encouraging the delegates to buy the offsets and yet the German government (the Environment agency) is also buying offsets. I presume they’re picking up the shortfall, probably quite substantial, for those delegates (or their institutions/gvts who don’t). This isn’t made clear in their blurb.

2- The delegates and institutions/gvts who don’t buy offsets are just shirking their responsibilities and leaving it to the German taxpayer to fund their CO2 emissions.

3- Notice I say “German taxpayer” and not “German Government”. The government is just as bad as the delegates who don’t pull their weight because it’s enabling their CO2 profligacy by rushing in to pick up the bill. Since it knows it simply cannot hold a climate conference without being carbon neutral, it does whatever is necessary to avoid accusations of hypocrisy. Regardless of the cost to its taxpayers. That has to be wrong. The onus should be on the individual delegates and their institutions/gvts to foot the bill for their own emissions. Even then it’s their own taxpayers footing the bill for a dubious cause. But the German government’s acquiescence over resorting to fleece its own taxpayers smacks of the elitist nature of the whole jamboree at Bonn.

The more I read about the involvement of the UN in world affairs the more I become convinced that it is time to disband that organisation and all of its offshoots. That would result in improvement in living conditions for a lot of the ‘little people’.

Here’s this year’s COP-PLOP (Provisional) list of registered participants:

The format has changed from previous years, making it more difficult to easily identify freeloaders.

….. It runs to 981 pages!!!!!!

So some of them aren’t? 🤣

Just as 25,000 climate chinwaggers and their sidekicks arrive in Germany, 6000 renewables workers are about to get the boot.

The climate warriors are holding yet another Global Warming Jamboree in Bonn. We can expect an orchestrated flood of frightening forecasts to support their alarmist agenda.

Naturally they will not use carbon energy to get there.

THAT ye-olde cliché again – “Do as I say, not as I do!” And, what is wrong with Skype to save on those evil plant food CO2 emissions? Worst case scenario, the climate obsessed mainstream media does a years worth of climate industry lobbying in a single day, for free!

  8. Here’s a list of the participants from each country. Those poor African countries need all the all the climate cash they can get so that their participants can enjoy the first class entertainment. Ivory coast tops the list with 492 participants.

    Subsidy-sucking hypocrites.
    Every last one of them.

Ivory coast tops the list with 492 participants.

That’s about 1 for every 50,000 of the population. Crazy.

The Federal Climate Science Report Is Bunk; Trump Must Fire All the Charlatans Responsible

A bunch of alarmist holdovers from the Obama era released a report insisting that climate change is still just about the worst thing ever.

The Federal Climate Science Special Report from the U.S. Global Change Research Program – to give it its full grandiose title – was seized on by the liberal media as proof that President Trump is wrong on climate and that the “science” still supports all those greens, Democrats, RINOs and other pondlife demanding more action be taken to combat global warming.

Needless to say, the report is bull from start to finish.

In a moment I shall thoroughly debunk it. (If you’re impatient, you can cut to the chase and skip straight to the paragraph below beginning “Here is why it cannot be trusted…”)

But first, if you don’t mind, I want to have a bit of fun at the expense of all those prize pillocks who for the last few days have been making hay with this alarmist propaganda.
    . . .
A group of more than 60 scientists on the U.S. government payroll – attached to such institutions as NASA, NOAA, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, National Center for Atmospheric Research – has put together, at no doubt lavish taxpayer expense, an official report on climate change which, on closer examination, turns out to be a tissue-thin veil of “half-truths, exaggerations, omissions and outright lies.”
    . . .
First, these people must be exposed as the liars and cheats and traitors they are. Then Trump needs to tell them: “You’re fired!”
