Surprise: Antarctic climate change is of opposite sign to model expectations.
The Ross Ice Shelf is Freezing, Not Melting. Which Is Weird | Popular Mechanics
IT’S time for “the talk.” You know, the one we’ve been putting off because it’s “inconvenient”. That end-of-life conversation…
YEP! Antarctica, the ‘inconvenient’ pole, the naughty child, has been gaining ice mass and cooling for decades, despite a 20 percent increase in atmospheric CO2, and model predictions to the contrary.

Why is Antarctic sea ice at record levels despite global warming? | Environment | The Guardian
2017 Study

From the abstract:
Mass changes of the Antarctic ice sheet impact sea-level rise as climate changes, but recent rates have been uncertain. Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) data (2003–08) show mass gains from snow accumulation exceeded discharge losses by 82 ± 25 Gt a−1, reducing global sea-level…

Global climate models do not fail ‘in part’ when they are unable predict some regional anomaly like a cooling southern ocean. The models demonstrably have no skill at all. Global climate models have told us NOTHING useful about climate. All they have told us is they have no skill.
If your model doesn’t get it right, your model is wrong.
Why assume that “part” of your model is right? It’s a modeling nonsense, particularly if the “wrong” part is going in the opposite direction to your forecast.
Consider the polar see-saw.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_see-saw
A very simple explanation:
It ain’t nowt to do with CO2.
It’s because energy has become more expensive in the northern hemisphere and people are using less obviously
They shouldn’t be surprised if the computer models don’t give the real world results after all the truism of all computer output is GIGO (you put Garbage In you get Garbage Out) and since they ‘massage’ most of the input they should be expecting garbage output.
Unfortunately they have conned a lot of gullible politicians with that garbage the taxpayers have to pay for it.
The money flow is what keeps the scam going. When the cold comes, windmills and solar panels stop working and people will be reduced to moving around on foot. With no transport, no food, no medical support, no communication, no facilities left to organise protests, you can guess what is going to happen. Gang warfare, high death rates and extreme population reduction.
It’s all been carefully planned except Russia, India and China are not cooperating.
That could be a nuclear problem for the plan.
From NASA link, quote ” — Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years –“, The Earth has undergone several changes in 10k yrs. No linear extrapolation can make sense. It is the most chaotic part of the present cycle (as can be seen in following link: https://melitamegalithic.wordpress.com/2018/01/30/searching-evidence/ ).
Greenland is the northern twin of Antarctica.

Surely it is quite normal and natural for the ice to melt at the poles and glaciers as we continue to leave the LIA. It would be more alarming, and troublesome, if all the ice were to continue advancing, as that signal we are returning to a cooling phase.
From tom0mason says: April 18, 2018 at 11:59 pm ” It would be more alarming, and troublesome, if all the ice were to continue advancing, as that signal we are returning to a cooling phase.”
We are returning to a cooling phase, but the road is not straight and direct. I (once more) link to this based primarily on WUWT > link: https://melitamegalithic.wordpress.com/2018/01/30/searching-evidence/ Humanity as a species survived all the changes since the YD but civilisations did not survive the dated jerks. While everyone seems to be absorbed on the recent/detail it is the jerks that spell big trouble.
In other avenues archaeology is beginning to admit the events were not man-made. Geology, similarly, is beginning to realise and address the flaw in their basic theory. And History is rethinking the old tales of the ancients. Major changes in historical weather patterns are a result of those jerks not the cause.
