Clearly the main reason for not putting a news item on the front page is that it won’t help to sell the newspaper. UK weather variability is standard.

Today’s frontpages of most UK newspapers ignore the new IPCC report, reflecting the declining concern of most Brits about the climate agenda – despite the habitual alarm, says The Global Warming Policy Forum (GWPF).

UK Survey: Brits Are Chilled About Global Warming

Press Release, Global Warming Policy Forum, 11 July 2018

Few Britons have major concerns over climate change

The latest British Social Attitudes Survey reveals that only around a quarter of the public has major concerns over the impacts of global warming and that only a third thinks that humans are the main cause of climate change.

The typical Briton is mildly concerned by climate change, but believes that human and natural causes are equally important in understanding why the climate changes.

This is in sharp contrast to green campaigners, politicians and the broad “climate science” community, whose message of impending disaster is dominating the mainstream media.

Similarly, the survey shows that few people feel they should limit their energy use in order to address global warming, with young Britons least likely to indicate a willingness to change.

  1. The BBC is the only place to go for the facts. You get:
    Greenpeace
    WWF
    Bob (fast fingers) Ward
    Myles Allen
    Jim Skea
    Matt McGrath
    Shukman.

So a very balanced set of opinions!

Meanwhile the BBC, fresh from announcing a weekly 2 minutes hate slot, are calling this the final chance, although like a closing down sale in not sure if this is the “final”, “final, final” or “final, final, trust us it’s the last time before we pop up next door” chance?

William Nordhaus originated the idea of a 2C global warming limit but last year cast doubt on our ability to reach it. He shares the prize with Paul Romer

Assuming that such investments might be effective, which is highly debatable. Natural variation will occur anyway, as ever.

IPCC REPORT: EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS HAVE NOT INCREASED

“The IPCC once again reports that there is little basis for claiming that drought, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes have increased, much less increased due to” greenhouse gases, University of Colorado professor Roger Pielke, Jr. tweeted Sunday night.

For example, the IPCC’s report noted that “there is only low confidence regarding changes in global tropical cyclone numbers under global warming over the last four decades.” Pielke pointed out this inconvenient data.

    Alarmist arm-wavers drone on regardless.
