Stirring up hysteria and issuing threats are well-known tactics of dictators hoping to suppress and discourage clear thinking.

Some climate change alarmists have become the Roman Inquisition of the 21st century.

Once again, the Earth is put at the centre of everything, with other issues such as free speech, democracy and scientific freedom relegated to some distant orbit.

Galileo wrote, “In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual.” The problem is the ideas and clout of that thousand make that single individual a rare and unappreciated gem.

Copernicus defied thousands, if not millions, when he dared suggest the Earth was not the centre of the universe. Galileo was later arrested for teaching the idea.

Climate change alarmists with their own Earth-centred dogmas should put their zeal aside.

Heretics are the domain of religion, and no one should be cast out and punished in the name of science.

Here in the US, the Roman Inquisition is better exemplified by the liberal search for the “truth” about the Donald (long may he live).

Just waiting for Hell to freeze over first 🤣

I have said it before and I will say it again – this is not about science, any more than the Catholic Church’s response to new ideas was about science. And the part of this is to do away with freedom of speech and “democracy” (as we see with Brexit, Trump and others). The Left cannot win its arguments on a level playing field, but rather than admit what that means for those ideas, it is determined to tilt the playing field as far as possible in its favour.

  4. JB says:

Shouldn’t have to wait too long for the fires of Hell to be snuffed out, the direction my heating bill is going. Thankfully I won’t make it that far, when central heating is the center of everyone’s universe.

New theory on ‘Snowball Earth’ challenges climate change orthodoxy

A lack of CO2 in the atmosphere did not lead to “snowball earth.” Why should an overabundance of CO2 lead to catastrophic global warming?
