AGU Statement on Climate Change

‘Climate models predict that global temperatures…’ blah blah. These predictions are invariably out of step with reality by a wide margin, due to human-caused warming biases built-in to the computer software.

Apparently the catastrophist community is actually deluding itself into believing they have not effectively let people know they really truly think the world is going to end soon.
It seems that their delusion that somehow the reason they aren’t getting their way in all the aspects of their obsession is that not quite enough people share their sense of urgency.
So the solution for the catastrophist true believers to save the world is to make sure that their message is the only thing heard in the public square. And that pointing out the subhuman evil cynical deniers, then silencing those denialists forever, will lead to climatopia.
    What a bunch of asshats.

Why bring it up now, it is very old news?

At the time, Judith Curry wrote:

‘What really irks me about this statement is that I am a member of the AGU, and therefore this statement is implicitly speaking for me. It is clear that not even the 15 AGU members set to write this statement agreed, since one of their members (Pielke) has written a dissenting statement. The words ‘uncertainty’ or ‘debate’ are not used in the statement, leaving no wiggle room for them to pretend that this statement accounts for the range of perspectives in the AGU (or even within the writing committee), or the uncertainties.

If the AGU wants to maintain credibility as a scientific organization, it should do some serious self reflection.’

    Has anything changed?

Another dollop of climate propaganda and psychobabble from The Conversation, rabbiting on about ‘deniers’ and making some of the usual we-know-best assertions…

Funny how the ‘extreme’, ‘rapid’ and ‘accelerating’ decreases in Arctic sea ice never seem to prevent explorers running up against it when they go there to publicise this supposed ‘disaster’. Maybe that’s the difference between climate models and reality 🤔
