Another green climate fantasy gets the cold shower treatment.

Does it make sense for our homes and businesses to be all electric? Absolutely not! But that’s where many communities in America are headed. In Berkeley California, the City Council has voted to ban natural gas in all new low-rise residential buildings. This bad idea is spreading to other parts of the country. If it accelerates, the all electric contagion will have serious negative consequences for us all.

If you live in an all electric house and most of the electricity comes from renewable sources what happens when the wind isn’t blowing?

This is the reason for the so called ‘smart meters’, they allow the suppliers to switch off any house with a heavy load. The real problem is that too many of the sheeple are quite happy with this and comply without a sound.

We have just spent 48 hours without electric power, for the second time in 10 days and will likely spend 30 more this weekend. This in summer! due to modest winds.10 – 15 mph.and bureaucratic dictates.
All electric homes are wonderful BUT! cost and availability are of prime importance. A few years back I went 5 days without service, in winter and in 3 feet of snow. Damn glad I had wood for heat and cooking. Electric appliances are just worthless junk if there is no electric service. Our cost has doubled in 8 years and are due to increase 25% in two more. California is demanding massive increases in cost while reducing availability of dependable electrical service. This is deliberate STUPID on purpose. ..pg

Fire and Gas Explosion in Battery Room of Norwegian Ferry Prompts Lithium-Ion Power Warning
    October 15, 2019

Norwegian authorities are warning shipowners and operators about the dangers associated with lithium-ion battery systems after a fire and subsequent gas explosion on board a diesel-electric ferry in Norway.

The small fire was reported October 10 in the battery room of the Norled passenger ferry MF Ytterøyningen. The ferry returned to harbor under its own power where passengers and crew were evacuated to land.

Overnight, however, a serious gas explosion rocked the battery room causing significant damage.

    on Michael Moron –

Lard butt has gone way past his “use by” date so he’s searching for another group of folks to tap for his food allowance and several mansions’ power bills.

I’d congratulate them for this movie of awakening, but I guarantee you the final release will spend significant time whinging on about fossil fuels and panning nukes as well. Like some other sites and thought leaders, they will recognize the idiocy of their ‘green power’ prescriptions like windmills but will cling to the fantasy of the Satanic Gases ending life on Earth to the end of their days.

I’d love to see the green crowd scream and cry about this heresy by ‘one of their own’ and raise protests everywhere they try to show it! I think I’ll order in some extra popcorn. It could be fun to watch this unfold.

I was told in the 1970s that an electric home was the way to go. I bought an all electric house.

In the mid-1980s, my monthly bill was $300. $715 in today’s dollars.

    Déjà vu, all over again.

PG&E may shut off power to nearly 1 million customers in California to prevent ‘catastrophic wildfire’
    – CNN, Updated 0608 GMT (1408 HKT) October 26, 2019

The planned power outage could last for several days, the utility said, to prevent a “catastrophic wildfire” during what is expected to be particularly dry and windy weather.
    . . .
Estimates indicate the potential outage could affect more than 2 million people, a spokesperson with the company said.

Customers in 36 counties are at risk of losing power, the utility said Friday.
    . . .
“This will be a long duration and potentially extreme/historic even across the North Bay,” the weather service in San Francisco said in an advisory.

Bad news, and worse if you’re all-electric. Mass evacuations possible.

Blackouts: California’s Electric Car Dream Is Turning Into A Nightmare
    Date: 27/10/19OilPrice.com

California might be blazing a trail with getting a large number of electric vehicles on the road, but the only trail California is currently blazing is the wildfire/PG&E fiasco that could once again plunge millions of Californians into the dark in the next wave of blackouts, the likes of which could sour investor confidence in purchasing a vehicle that relies on sketchy power sources.

  9. p.g.sharrow says:

Yes we are now in our second day of this fiasco, the third this month. Good thing we have a wood stove for heat and cooking and a small generator to keep the computer/internet connection up and the beer cold. 😎 this may last for several more days here. I have 10,000 watts of solar panels for a PV system that is under construction as I find the funds to create it. We have been here 23 years and this availability of electrical service has never been this bad and it is expected to get worse. And the COST! It is now 5 times as much and PG&E is asking for another 30% increase…pg

    Getting worse…

    OCTOBER 28, 2019
State of emergency declared as California wildfires rage

California’s governor declared a statewide emergency on Sunday as a huge blaze, fanned by strong winds, forced mass evacuations and power blackouts as it bore down on towns in the famed Sonoma wine region.

The so-called Kincade Fire, north of San Francisco, has spread to 30,000 acres (12,000 hectares) and was only 10 percent contained by Sunday evening, state fire authorities said.

The blaze, the largest of more than a dozen wildfires burning throughout the state, has destroyed dozens of homes and vineyards, including the renowned 150-year-old Soda Rock Winery.
    . . .
PG&E, which filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year, has been blamed for several other fires in the state in recent years.

[Governor] Newsom hit out at the utility earlier this week, saying he was infuriated that a state such as California—which boasts the fifth-largest economy in the world—had to endure blackouts.
