UN Should Change Course On Climate

Many national economies are going to be under a lot of strain during and after the Coronavirus epidemic. Pouring fortunes into the bottomless climate money pit looks highly unlikely any time soon.

The UN’s climate action machinery is on the verge to collapse, beginning this November in Glasgow, Scotland. This time the annual climate summit, called COP 26, is most likely to end in complete disarray, even more than COP 25 did last year in Madrid, Spain.

The failure of COP 25 was widely noted with sadness, but Madrid was a minor COP, with little of substance on the table. In contrast COP 26 is hugely important. When it fails, the UN has to rethink its entire approach to climate action.

One of the six principles stated in CLINTEL’s World Climate Declaration captures the situation very succinctly. It says “Climate policy must respect scientific and economic realities.” If it does not, such a policy must fail. See https://clintel.org/world-climate-declaration/.

The scientific reality is that, as CLINTEL emphasizes, there is no climate emergency. The radicals insist that there…

UN bullying has gone reprehensibly too far. The northern hemisphere summer crop will unnecessarily be at risk this year because of worldwide bureaucratic incompetence that is NOT staying on an even keel with a bigger-picture view of the consequences of such severe interference in supply chains. Their conventional consensus view is that they “must” do what they are doing. If there is a summer crop failure because of the all of the interference, top people simply cannot remain in office. They are not thinking through the consequences of the things they are presently doing in panic. We are all responsible if we do not speak out now about the risk that farmers will not have access to the supplies they need when they need them. There are a lot of parts in a farm operation, many of them critical.

The most dangerous organization on Earth is the United Nations.

In a first world country citizens know how to stand up to a bully.
In a second world country citizens know that is fatal.

I view the UN as a shark waiting for the right summer to gnash North American food supplies.
If it isn’t that it will be something else. The strategy will always be to lie in wait like a predator for the right moment to strike fatally at North America. There has been too much infiltration by bullies and people who by culture always submit to bullies.
