More of the usual tedious arm-waving evidence-free rhetoric on climate. People deserve better.

He attacked climate sceptics in a speech to the United Nations, blasting those who ‘say this is all green stuff from a bunch of tree-hugging tofu munchers and not suited to international …. politics’, reports the Daily Mail.

In the virtual address to the Security Council, as the UK chaired the body for the first time in 30 years, he drew a direct link between environmental change and terrorism.

He warned that those displaced when their homes became unlivable were easy prey for extremists in refugee camps.

After presenting a speech from Sir David Attenborough, the PM told assembled heads of state: ‘If this council is going to succeed in maintaining peace and security worldwide then it has got to galvanise the whole range of UN agencies and organisations into a swift and effective response.

‘When are we going to do something if we don’t act now when changing sea levels are affecting navigation around our coasts or when huddled masses fleeing drought or wildfire or conflict over resources arrive at our borders?’

Mr Johnson’s fiancee Ms Symonds is well known as an environmental campaigner. In January she began a new job as head of communications for the Aspinall Foundation.

Their relationship has been credited with influencing his declarations about ‘building a green recovery’ after the Covid pandemic by striking agreements on cutting carbon emissions and boosting renewable technologies.

Johnson’s choice of words left many baffled, as they attempted to piece together his thought process behind the leading comments.

I totally resent being ruled by Ms. Symonds and flail the air listening to David Attenborough escalating matter of environment up to Climate scare stories.

  7. Phoenix44 says:

I really don’t understand how intelligent well-informed people fall for this nonsense? How can anyone look at say Syria and say it’s a climate change problem? How can you ignore the sectarianism, the dictatorship, Islamic fundamentalism, inequality along tribal lines? And the same for all these other supposed climate refugees. They clearly don’t exist. And do they not look out of the window and think “hmm no record today, just normal again”?

  8. Graeme No.3 says:

    @Phoenix44
No they don’t look out, nor do the press and TV. There are no sales in “No disaster today” or “Fine weather again” but the new media love to run disaster stories. And thanks to world-wide news and reliable electronic communications they can, and blame them on Climate Change e.g. the BBC.
In the future their push for unreliable “renewables” will result in a lack of electricity and their output will be squashed.

This is a well-received reminder AB out SIM UN$. The level of determination to mmmisunderstand, mmmisinterpret, & mmmisrepresent is truly a maze UN. I had completely forgot UN AB out her (homeless ‘Cause’ of injustice in the cold northern winter “home” land).

Together let US find peace, prosperity, financial equality, stability, tranquility, security, and hope. Everyone can ‘sea the truth’ even if an agenda “must” be imposed for reasons that will never be clear.

Review of the orange example from Negotiation 101:
One person wanted to eat the core.
The other wanted the peel as an ingredient for baking.
A moment of intense frustration arose and a bad “solution” was imposed.
    Each stakeholder ended up half-satisfied.
Half of the orange ended up wasted as garbage.

There are good people looking to ‘sea the truth’ peacefully acknowledged by other good people (while creatively boycotting whatever bad influence of dark ignorance and/or deception).

There are smart bad people in the mix. Some of them curiously “succeed” 99% of the time and fail the 1% of the time when it matters most. Johnson & John$UN can be aware of the strategic 1% failure rate, without trying to rebrand good people as bad.
