Get your climate change to 9 decimal places with one click. Who are they kidding? Never mind — happy tracking! 😂

Rising temperatures, CO2 emissions and where our energy is sourced are all tracked here at Sky News.

  1. ilma630 says:

I’m surprised they can even measure global temperature to 1/10th of a degree, let alone 9 decimal places!! When I say measure, I of course mean guess!

  2. oldbrew says:

Of course you have to add 1 to the last digit on the display every second or two, but Sky’s website does it for you. What a service 😴

  3. saighdear says:

in other words, nay , figures / digits 1 degree in 31.709791983764586504312531709792 years … from ?

  4. NeilC says:

Could do with another 25C just now, it’s bloody freezing outside

  5. Chaswarnertoo says:

That’s perfect to show the UHI effect. Measure temps. where most people live….

  6. ivan says:

I would like to know how the Environmental Change Institute of Oxford University are managing to read that temperature so accurately now and how did they get the old temperatures to the same accuracy.

Maybe it is all just made up BS which is the usual output of so called ‘climate scientists’, but then the numbers look alarming if you don’t think, which I assume is the idea since most people have given up on global cooling, global warming climate change and there is supposed to be another climate shindig soon.

  7. JB says:

Some days I actually believe I managed get in on the tail of a good education, though I never had much respect for it at the time.

In Middle school during General Math, something about significant digits….
And then again in college engineering, back when we were still solving our math exercises with a slide rule. (Yes, I did buy a calculator, and found it useless in clarifying the pertinent parameters.)

No wonder the rumor is going around that present NASA engineers don’t understand how the original engineers figured out how to get to the Moon. In those days we were taught how to identify and then solve a problem, sometimes with multiple approaches. Then we could use some form of computer if we desired–on our own time. Engineers in the 60s didn’t have that convenience, nor that crutch.

  8. oldbrew says:

    *Daily climate* is an oxymoron.
    – – –
Evening Standard today features a photo of ‘smoke rising from a woodchip plant’. But says ‘carbon dioxide, the main driver of rising temperatures and climate change’…blah blah. Hello?

  9. Curious George says:

Global temperature measured every two seconds. What a progress!

  10. gseine says:

Love it … where would life be without computers? There’d be little chance to be so very idiotic.

  11. tallbloke says:

  12. Gamecock says:

False precision fallacy. They use it to trick people into believing they are competent.

Related: Today, 7 April, Tony Heller posted this map of weather stations 1891-1920.

He shows that a hundred years ago, 4 of the 7 continents had virtually no measurements AT ALL.

    ‘Global warming since 1880’

It is simply a lie. To 9 decimal places.

  13. ivan says:

To find out about the Environmental Change Institute of Oxford University just go to their web page: The head graphic tells all that we need to know about them.

  14. Neil Hampshire says:

The data seems to come from

The “temperature rise” is entitled “Human induced warming”
They go on to say “This number shows an up-to-the-second assessment of human-induced global warming since the second half of the 19th century.”

It keeps going up by the second. How can this be when global temperatures are falling at the moment?

I think they are showing an estimated of rising temperatures based upon computer model forecasts and CO2 i.e. “Human induced warming”

I do not think this is real time temperature data!

  15. Paul Vaughan says:

+/- higher frequency variations, “trade secret” model suggests 3-4 millennia of formidable NATURAL warming coming out of LIA. May peace, security (including financial), and freedom be with you no matter your nation, race, and politics.

  16. Phoenix44 says:

    Which second of 1880?

It’s so unscientific its funny. Totally impossible precision on the temperature combined with no precision on the date! They are comparing apples and pears – every second or minute or whatever with an annual temperature.

Yet we are the science Deniers?!

  17. oldbrew says:

Neil H says: I do not think this is real time temperature data!

As Curious George says, they would have to be updating it from somewhere every 2 seconds 😆

Good enough for the sort of climate dummies they’re likely to attract?

  18. hunterson7 says:

Calling this train wreck social disorder “so-called climate crisis” is exactly correct.
Nothing admits ridiculous better than using an anti-scientific contrived number with nine decimal places. Thanks for catching this.

  19. stpaulchuck says:

+100 on what all you guys said!

  20. oldbrew says:

Not appearing on the Daily Climate Scam Show — another ‘scientists predict’ fail…

    – –
Climate scaremongers just move on to the next fake drama and/or revise their predicted date of the failed one.

  21. oldbrew says:

  22. […] but as we’ve had a temperature rise of about 1.2ºC since 1880, according to one source at least, comparisons with much bigger historical increases in shorter timescales seem […]

  23. oldbrew says:

The main casualty of the ‘climate crisis’? Journalism
    – by Ben Pile

The Sky News Daily Climate Show is an exercise in activism, not news.
    . . .
…the number of people dying from extreme-weather events has actually fallen by 95 per cent since the 1920s. In other words, there is less than zero evidence of a crisis. But activist journalists, possessed of a cause, cannot let the facts get in the way of a campaign.
    . . .
Sky’s fall is a remarkable transformation. Switch it off!
