Note the begging the question fallacy: we have no evidence that what she says is true, other than her assertion, which is, of course, not evidence.
But what she is doing is making a moral assertion, that doing what she says is the moral thing to do. Pointing out that she has her facts all wrong will have little effect. The right/conservatives need to learn to fight moral assertions with counter moral assertions. Scientific facts and data are not effective counter arguments to moral assertions.
It’s not hysteria, simply what we have been doing for tens of thousands of years. Want it to rain? Sacrifice a goat. Long drought? Sacrifice a virgin.
What’s sad is that the people reverting to these pre-science thought patterns think they are the clever ones.

Science thrives when scientists are allowed to investigate areas of scientific disagreement. So, when journalists and social media platforms use “fact-checkers” to suppress genuine scientific disagreements, they are effectively shutting down scientific inquiry.

The ENSO Outlook remains at La Niña WATCH. This means that the El Niño-Southern Oscillation is currently neutral, but the chance of a La Niña forming during the coming months has increased to around 50% – twice the normal likelihood.
Sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific Ocean continue to cool. Three of seven models indicate La Nina thresholds could be met during the southern hemisphere spring and persist until at least early 2022.
