IPCC scientists say it’s ‘now or never’ to limit warming — but such powers don’t exist?

What evidence is there that such powers do exist? An air of unreality is palpable here, with talk of extreme dangers and use of decimal point temperature statements while brushing aside all uncertainties. Endless alarmism creates fatigue, not the fear they crave.

UN scientists have unveiled a plan that they believe can limit the root causes of dangerous climate change, says BBC News.

A key UN body says in a report that there must be “rapid, deep and immediate” cuts in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Global emissions of CO2 would need to peak within three years to stave off the worst impacts.

Even then, the world would also need technology to suck CO2 from the skies by mid-century.

After a contentious approval session where scientists and government officials went through the report line by line, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has now published its guidance on what the world can do to avoid an extremely dangerous future.

First, the bad news – even if all the policies to cut carbon that governments had put in place by the end of 2020 were fully implemented, the world will still warm by 3.2C this century.

This finding has drawn the ire of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

“Some government and business leaders are saying one thing – but doing another. Simply put, they are lying. And the results will be catastrophic.”

That sort of temperature rise would see our planet hit by “unprecedented heatwaves, terrifying storms, and widespread water shortages.”

To avoid that fate, the world must keep the rise in temperatures at or under 1.5C this century, say researchers.

The good news is that this latest IPCC summary shows that it can be done, in what Mr Guterres calls a “viable and financially sound manner.”

But keeping temperatures down will require massive changes to energy production, industry, transport, our consumption patterns and the way we treat nature.

To stay under 1.5C according to the IPCC means that carbon emissions from everything that we do, buy, use or eat must peak by 2025, and tumble rapidly after that, reaching net-zero by the middle of this century.

Well, they’re impostors, poseurs, aka politicians frocked in white lab coats to appear like scientists.

They’ve been beating this immediate-catastrophe-drum since I began perusing the Weekly Reader at age 6. It takes a certain delimited cognition to repeatedly hang onto false alarms. Religious dogma has this main feature.

It would be very nice if we had a little of the warming the globalists of the UN Church of Scientology seem to fear. Outside temp hasn’t reached much above 10 C in the last couple of weeks – this is supposed to be spring time when the place gets warmer.

The, so called, scientists of the IPCC should get out in the real weather and take and record temperatures. They might see why most thinking people dont believe their stupid utterings.

‘A key UN body says in a report that there must be “rapid, deep and immediate” cuts in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.’

Great! Get China, Russia, India and Brazil on board, then get back to us.

We won’t be holding our emissions til then.

Ice cores allow climate researchers to look 800,000 years back in time. New research indicates that atmospheric carbon acts as fertilizer, increasing biological production. The mechanism removes carbon from the air and thereby slows the acceleration in global warming.

Aka the carbon cycle. But ‘slows the acceleration in global warming’ assumes CO2 is causing warming, which would undermine the carbon cycle, so they are getting seriously mixed up – or churning out climate propaganda.

  10. Johna says:

Propaganda but to do what, cause and extinction event by reducing atmospheric CO2 below 180 ppm? Joseph Postma (like many more scientists) who have proved the IPCC wrong with his spherical earth model which represents a true to reality outcome of temperature than what the IPCC’s flat earth models shows, has also lost his job and is naturally very angry. The fact is the IPCC are scared to talk about what they do and keep perpetuating their FE model GIGO i.e. massive over estimates of derived future temperatures which the UN is using to scare the public (the political link). Ice core data is a good T v CO2 datum showing categorically that CO2 follows temperature, i.e. there is no reverse correlation whatsoever. Modern satellite measurements also show that CO2 lags temperature and that anthropogenic CO2 (intrinsic – its part of Earth energy budget/balance) forms around 0.003 % of the 0.04% CO2 content of all atmospheric gases. I.E. the largest CO2 contribution is outgassing from the oceans and land which is a function of the energy radiated from the Sun.
The Younger Dryas also proves that CO2 did not and could not cause the massive swing of the last transition to the interglacial, and you never hear the IPCC contesting this, nor the planetary cyclic influences that they agree causes the in/out ice ages. So that only leaves them with a very tenuous argument in trying to plicate anthropogenic CO2 that somehow regulates Earths temperature. I agree that until the IPCC explains their FE models and runs this with the spherical earth models and discusses these massive differences on the BBC then what political scare coming out the UN must be thrown back at them as being complete and utter garbage

On Thursday, he is expected to announce his much-contested energy strategy. Unfortunately, he is being told that the Big Thing to get right in energy is the climate change ‘‘emergency’’, and the attainment of net zero by 2050. He must therefore, they go on, renew renewables. These will address the acute problem of energy security in the process, they say, since their energy is domestic.

The French weather forecaster Météo France recorded temperatures of -9C on Sunday night, the coldest April night on record since 1947.

    Published: 4 April 2022

Overnight frosts were seen across almost all of the France, with the exception of the Paris area and the northern and Mediterranean coasts, with the coldest temperatures recorded in the Champagne area.

While Champagne went down to -9C parts of the south west also recorded temperatures of -5C, leaving wine producers very worried about frost damage to their vines.

Why Blaming Recent Warming on Humans is Largely a Matter of Faith
    March 3rd, 2022 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.

I repeat: NONE of the natural, global-average energy flows in the climate system are known to better than about 5-10 Watts per sq. meter…compared to the ocean warming-based imbalance of 1 Watt per sq. meter.

What this means is that recent warming could be mostly natural…and we would never know it.
