China isn’t expecting the world’s weather to change as a result of its Taiwan policy. If push comes to shove, it puts its perceived national interests ahead of UN or US climate obsessions.

Tackling climate change has been a key area of co-operation between the two superpowers, says Yahoo News.
But China has suspended talks as part of its escalating retaliation over U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.
Pelosi’s brief visit this week to self-ruled Taiwan, which China claims as its own, infuriated Beijing and triggered Chinese military drills on an unprecedented scale in the seas and air around the island.
The freeze came as the U.S. and Chinese officials ramped up engagement on climate issues in the lead-up to the COP27 climate summit in Egypt in November.
China and the United States are the two biggest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions and their previous bilateral engagement on climate change helped pave the way for the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015.

[…] U.N. complains: Hard to tackle climate change without US, China co-operation […]
When the rest of them can demonstrate equivalent reductions as the US has done so far they can complain.
Perhaps China was searching for an excuse to abrogate their Climate commitments. Could it possibly be that they’ve known all along that actually reducing CO2, rather than talking about it, is a drag on the economy? They will likely focus on clean air and water, which is where the focus should be.
Hard to tackle climate change without US, China co-operation
Best just get used to it then, like humanity has always had to do.
Oh dear… how sad… never mind!
Why does not the UN itself cooperate? Christiana Figueres should change her lifestyle dramatically. Antonio Guterres as well. At least, stop flying.
This Christiana Figueres, George?
At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.
Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

Because she doesn’t believe a word of it, of course!
the US? HA! China and India are building dozens of coal fired power plants right now. Even if the US shut down totally those other two would more than make up for it.
‘Tackling climate change has been a key area of co-operation between the two superpowers, says Yahoo News.’
China cooperates by saying they are going to do all sorts of great things . . . after 2030. They just talk; they aren’t doing anything else. Except ‘cooperating.’
‘But China has suspended talks as part of its escalating retaliation over U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.’
What talks ?!?! They have allegedly been cooperating for years. Why would there need to be ‘talks?’ Talks about what? Are they in the 17th year of negotiations?
These are the ding-a-lings that shut down coal stations because they think they can control the world climate, They did not have the thought that perhaps we should mothball these stations just in case we need them.
It is a fundamental step in any major program in case something not anticipated occurs,
Only stupid people would ignore that common sense approach.
Now we have placed the whole electrical system and the economy in the hands of people who have demonstrated just how stupid they are.
Even alarmists admit…

Nature might put back anything taken out of the air anyway. Nobody knows.
Perhaps it is actually a people-reduction plan.
The tech doesn’t need to exist. You just need to get the plebes to believe it’s possible.
That’s why we get monthly reports of great breakthroughs in tech . . . to get people to believe the tech is possible. It’s not about ‘the new battery!”, it’s about getting people to believe new batteries are possible.
