One less climate bore at COP27. Or the polite version: we shall have to try to contain our profound disappointment. Reports claiming he was ‘ordered’ not to go are strongly denied.

The monarch and prime minister agreed the King would not go after he sought government advice, says BBC News.

  1. stpaulchuck says:

the King had to attend to some important personal business

  2. Velcro says:

One down, 30,000 grifters to go.

  3. oldbrew says:

Never mind. Google has climate science covered…

“We own the Science” brags UN chief who works with Google to suppress climate skeptics

  4. Chaswarnertoo says:

Keep the jug eared moron away from controversy. Good move.

  5. Saighdear says:

Did he find it then ? Oh the local farmer took the Bogey away. spread it on the field? Ahh . that was the smell!

  6. Bloke down the pub says:

Presumably, that decision won’t stop him from appearing via video link. At least that would have the benefit of avoiding hypocritical travel while calling for everyone else to stay at home.

  7. Gamecock says:

Becoming King has cost him his freedom.

  8. oldbrew says:

Monarchs in the UK can’t be seen to meddle in politics.

  9. MrGrimNasty says:

I already remarked elsewhere about the video message possibility.
As for remaining neutral on politics, they have that covered, climate change is not politics – according to its promoters.
It is an existential threat, debate over, despite no proper informed debate ever being allowed.
The great deception that allows the BBC to take a non neutral position and silence dissenters
The Queen already broke precedent by supporting climate change action for COP 26.

  10. Gamecock says:

“I have not become the King’s First Minister in order to preside over the liquidation of the British Empire.” — W. Churchill

With Net Zero, King Charles III will preside over the dissolution of the Britain.

  11. Coeur de Lion says:

Given the lamentable failure of COP26 oh such a short time ago, I wonder what reception COP27 will get? I’m told its theme is ‘soak the rich’ in which case best of luck with that. Btw has there ever been a ‘successful’ COP?
Fact to hold on to. There is absolutely not a chance that atmospheric CO2 will be reduced by human effort.

  12. Saighdear says:

“soak the rich” …. aye OK then if you must: Just Please please please give us a proper definition of ‘the rich’ …. I’m sure the rest of us wouldn’t complain then, eh?

  13. Coeur de Lion says:

Reply to Saighdear. The aim of the Green Climate Fund ( run from Seoul by people with inflated salaries) is to tax the Poor in Rich Countries to give to the Rich in Poor Countries.
