The UN’s pointless obsession with a minor trace gas continues to lead politicians up the garden path, taking their countries with them.

Representatives from some 190 countries will meet in Egypt for two weeks starting Nov. 6 to “[deliver] for people and the planet” at COP27, the U.N. Conference of the Parties annual summit on climate change policy.

President Joe Biden arrives for the COP26 U.N. Climate Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, on Nov. 1, 2021. More than 120 world leaders met in what they apocalyptically called a “last, best hope” to tackle the climate crisis and avert a looming global disaster. COP27 opens Sunday in Egypt. The predominant message at these climate conferences is one of “catastrophic” global warming necessitating policies to reduce anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions drastically.

COP27 in Egypt will likely be no different, even though last year’s conference in Glasgow, Scotland, was heralded by the United Nations and the popular press as “one minute…

Fool me once…Shame on you fools 27 times.

What’s the hurry? When the clock strikes noon, it will get outrageously cold and nothing grows outside. The gig will be up.

Gamecock looks forward to seeing pictures from DummCOPf27. He wants to know if elites still wear masks, or if that elitist fad has faded away.

A weak turnout is expected from major emitters in Sharm el-Sheikh, shifting the geopolitical showdown to a G20 leaders’ summit in Bali

In fact, showing from the G20 group of major economies is expected to be poor.

Aka kicking the can down the road – an empty can. Leaders too busy for time-wasting this year, or maybe Bali trumps Egypt if a choice needs making.

“continues to lead politicians up the garden path” …. who does lead them? what are the rewards, Why do they / what are they wanting ‘up the garden path’ ?

Ahhh . . . the elites have decided that this schtick is no longer interesting. There may be no DummCOPf28. But many should still have fun at 27.

‘Showdown?’ The beggars are not invited.

It is necessary to understand Gas Thermodynamics to see how the Physics of Solids cannot apply. The inventor of the Laws of Thermodynamics, James Clerk Maxwell, demonstrates this as regards Radiation, on Page 232 and nearabouts, of his “Theory of Heat”: Radiant Heat and light are the same thing and will only move in straight lines through clear gases. No diffusion, no direct heating of pure, clear, gases is possible.

Later, Einstein thanked Maxwell post mortem for making possible his 1917 Quantum Paper and others were enabled to calculate Lightspeed for which Maxwell had given an approximation…

About time we put the belief in magic gases to sleep. They have enough work to do… Brett Keane, New Zealand.

hindsight here at the center for deliberately average expression

brexit & trump seemed like good ideas way back whenever, but left & right both went too far provoking and reacting to one another (fishtailing) since then

all politicians now look like extremists (no matter their party & country)

plain dull and boring in the center is the potent (& refreshing) new addiction
