The government talks about ‘investment’ in renewables. So-called cheap wind energy holds out the begging bowl again.

Rising supply chain costs and other financial pressures are threatening the development of what could be the world’s largest offshore wind farm off the coast of Britain, says Energy Live News.

The Hornsea Three Offshore Wind Farm is expected to have a capacity of almost 3GW and generate [Talkshop comment – on a good day] enough energy to power three million homes.

Energy giant Orsted, which is behind the construction of the massive wind farm, has said it needs more government support to achieve project progress.

In a statement, Duncan Clark, Head of Orsted UK & Ireland, said: “Since the auction, there has been an extraordinary combination of increased interest rates and supply chain prices.

“Industry is doing everything it can to manage costs on these projects but there is a real and growing risk of them being put on hold or even handing back their CfDs.”

Mr Clark has called on the government to offer targeted support on investments such as tax breaks.

A government spokesperson told ELN: “The government is encouraging investment in renewable generation including through £30 billion to support the green industrial revolution…”

Without “government support” (taxpayer funds), aren’t all UNreliables operations “at risk”?!

The climate farce rolls on, completely unchallenged by the ideologically-driven, CO2-obsessed MainstreamMedia™️.
Buckle up… blackouts and the controlled demolition of Western Civilisation is well underway, obviously.
    Clown world.

Revealed: cabinet ministers warned of legal action over UK’s failure to tackle climate crisis
Senior civil servants have issued the warning as government is way behind on net zero pledges, according to leaked documents
    Sat 4 Mar 2023

The leaked briefings from senior mandarins – marked “official sensitive” and dated 20 February this year – make clear the government as a whole is way behind in spelling out how it will reach its net zero targets and comply with legal duties to save the planet.
    . . .
The documents say that as a result of evident lack of policy there is an increasing “legal risk” facing the secretary of state for energy security and net zero, Grant Shapps – who is held responsible under law for failing to act.

How delusional can they get? — ‘legal duties to save the planet’ 🤪

Scots ignite UN probe over public rights to challenge on planning

A United Nations body has begun a probe into whether the Scottish and UK governments have broken international law through a failure to give the public the right of challenge over planning decisions that would damage the nation’s precious environment, landscape and wildlife, it can be revealed.
    . . .
The concern is that the Scottish and UK Governments are in breach of the Aarhus Convention – an international agreement that sets out an obligation to ensure public consultation on decisions by the government or public sector that will impact on the environment.

What is their Climate Change Committee mole, Baroness Brown, doing about it?

Baroness Brown has been on the Climate Change Committee since it started in 2008 and is currently chair of the Mitigation sub-committee. She joined the Board of Ørsted in February 2021.

“Ørsted board of directors chairman Thomas Thune Andersen said “She possesses a deep knowledge of renewable energy and government policy perspectives from positions, among others, as member of the Committee on Climate Change and non-executive director of the Green Investment Bank.”

Which says they employed her precisely because of her access to, and influence on, government policy.
Baroness Brown receives £40,000 per annum as a non executive director of Ørsted

She has been promoting the Wind industry for some time:

    Tuesday 21st May 2019
“The Offshore Wind Industry Council says a major programme of work has just begun to ensure that the UK’s low-carbon energy system makes the best use of the increasingly large proportion of electricity we are generating from renewable sources, including offshore wind.

The task force is led by Baroness Brown of Cambridge, the industry’s Offshore Wind Sector Champion, and includes senior representatives from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Scottish Government, the Committee on Climate Change, National Grid, the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, the Energy Systems Catapult, Atkins, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and companies including ITM, Good Energy, Shell, Equinor, Vattenfall and Ørsted.”

A new EINSTEIN or? fell over this: which led to this … for those who may understand it better ?
WINDPOWER and all the rest. Huh, German on-shore wind is greater than our total? At least it seems to be producing ALL our current needs in UK ( from graph at beginning of video ) So all this total waffle form both our MSM and Gubbernint, …. just a load of bUM gUMPING – as usual. Isn’t there a leaked report from a (‘they’). Oakwood, or somebody about the Alternative energy crisis, etc. . UoEA report from 20 yrs ago?
