Rather than more subsidies I think the best idea would be to remove all subsidies for electricity generation, that way all can see which generation method is viable.

1) Two types of power generation that both need subsidies when on the same system (renewables backed by gas).
2) The type that on its own doesn’t need subsidies (gas).
