Net Zero Watch calls for a clearout at the Climate Change Committee

Net Zero Watch expresses the mood of many observers who are fed up with the antics of the Climate Change Committee, who talk up pie-in-the-sky ‘Net Zero’ targets while sidestepping vital issues like their cost, feasibility and effectiveness (or lack thereof).

London, 13 October – Campaign group Net Zero Watch has called for a management clearout at the Climate Change Committee (CCC), accusing it of ‘shameless’ deceit over the costs of Net Zero.

The CCC yesterday criticised the Prime Minister’s delay of a few Net Zero plans, claiming that energy bills would be driven upwards as a result. But Net Zero Watch director Andrew Montford points out that the CCC is being highly misleading with their claims.

“If your landlord is forced to put in expensive insulation measures in your flat, you might end up with lower heating bills. But you will certainly end up with higher rent bills, and you could even find yourself out of a home”.

Mr Montford points out that such duplicity is characteristic of the CCC’s behaviour.

In 2021, he exposed a series of deliberate deceptions in the CCC’s financial models.* The Prime Minister and former Chancellor, Lord Hammond, have both recently said that the public has been systematically misled over the costs of Net Zero.

The CCC has been at the centre of the deception of the British public that Rishi Sunak referred to. They say that they are ‘disappointed’ not to be consulted about the recent policy changes, but what sane person would want to consult an organisation that is so wedded to trickery?

And Mr Montford has called for a new regime at the Climate Change Committee.

“Mr Sunak’s comments about the public being deceived about the cost of Net Zero were a challenge to the Green blob. But far from coming clean with us, the CCC are shamelessly carrying on as if nothing had happened. Sunak needs to have a management clear-out, or he will end up looking like a lame duck.”

The CCC should have been cancelled years ago, John Gummer didn’t have a clue about climate and it appears the present members are following in his footsteps.
The CCC portrays itself as ‘The UK’s independent adviser on tackling climate change’ when it appears they never leave their nice air conditioned university offices so don’t know that CO2 is a necessary for the life of growing things on the planet which shows their total ignorance of how the world works.

The CCC epitomises everything wrong with the UK. It is completely needless, as Parliament’s role is to scrutinise the government. It is costly, stuffed with people on six figure salaries who are all mediocrity who wouldn’t get near such salaries in the market. It recruits solely activists, not those who actually want to scrutinise independently Net Zero. It is therefore dishonest and dissembling and its work is very poor quality, yet it is self-righteous, arrogant and lacks any self-understanding whatsoever. It believes we should all bow down before it rather than our elected representatives. It is an abomination.

The Climate Change Committee is at war with conservatism
We don’t need yet another green pressure group to attack the Tories for moderating net zero

With most government advisers, politicians can simply sack them if their advice turns out to be duff. It is harder in the case of the Climate Change Committee, whose role is constituted in the Climate Change Act.

But ministers do, at least, still have the power to appoint members of the committee. With the current membership, it is clearly going to be impossible to devise a climate policy which balances emissions reductions with the cost to the economy. If the Government wants to govern without being undermined by its own advisers, it must either change the composition of the Climate Change Committee – or abolish the Climate Change Act altogether.

What you see, what you think – it’s how you’re affected by it: Why are UK folk just SO ANGRY? Now all this Climate Change, it is REALLY a Generational thing? and it calls for a clearout at the Climate Change Committee etc. What did we call him? Bummer Gummer, bumping his gums again: Hasn’t changed -Gramps tells me. WHat you see tells a lot about what you DIDN’T get to do once upon a time. : Think this one out: Gramps tells me that waaaay back in the good old days when Farmers got (and took) FREE ADVICE from their Local Coll. of Agric. Area advisers ( like your ADAS in England ), the narrative was to produce food for the WORLD. If you wanted to make DOSH, be intensive & make the most of every ACRE right up to the Fence boundary. OK so far, but what happened? Gramps fathers/ granfathers DID NOT PERMIT making hay or conserving grass beyond middle August – too wet, etc etc. Well they didn’t have the machinery and “SOSHUL MEDIA” we have now for our education ( sarc). No our small tractors did not track the fields so much and we definitely didn’t bring the fields out onto the roadways. Well FFW to now and you see B I G Machines cutting grass, raking the morsels into swaths and collecting it in round plastic covered bales. Progress ? Oh aye, blah di bladi blah ( In vogue sound-bites for the readership / listeners) but in reality, there is NO Father / Granfather around to say NO, – don’t be doing all that and making a mess., etc etc. SO in effect, the ignorant self-educated no longer-so-young, do-not-disrespect-me generation are doing what they want to do and claiming they can harvest grass ( wet) after a frosty morning in October, up in the hills, as they also grow cereals now, (AND OPERATE A COMBINE HARVESTER TOO) due to …..wait for it …… Climate change. Hum……. so the CC Committee should go the way of the Elders ….. !

With any CCC membership the same applies. All ‘climate policy’ is a myth anyway, just window dressing for the gullible. Increasing the minor trace gas CO2 is good for greenery due to better photosynthesis, which also lowers the water needs of said greenery.
