Paraphrasing a well-known misquote (‘I thought it sounded so good that I never bothered to deny it’): “A trillion here, a trillion there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money.” Why clouds make climate, briefly explained in layman’s terms.

“This is clearly the most important, the controlling mechanism for the earth’s temperature & climate. And it dwarfs the effect of CO2 & methane.”

Nobel prize winner John Clauser says the complexities of clouds and variations in cloud cover have been largely ignored in climate models—with major implications.

He argues there is no climate emergency, says Climate Depot.

    Yes, …..but….what are clouds?:

  2. Ron Clutz says:

In addition to this discussion, there is an assessment of the effect on climate models from the adjustable cloud parameters they use. For example,

“Current climate models demonstrate large discrepancy in equilibrium climate sensitivity (ECS). The effects of cloudiness parameterization changes on the ECS of the INM-CM4-8 climate model were investigated. This model shows the lowest ECS among CMIP6 models. Reasonable changes in the parameterization of the degree of cloudiness yielded ECS variability of 1.8–4.1 K in INM-CM4-8, which was more than half of the interval for the CMIP6 models.

The three principal mechanisms responsible for the increased ECS were increased cloudiness dissipation in warmer climates due to the increased water vapor deficit in the non-cloud fraction of a cell, decreased cloudiness generation in the atmospheric boundary layer in warm climates, and the instantaneous cloud response to CO2 increases due to stratification changes.”

How Climate Models Get Clouds Wrong

What are clouds ? See here: https://www.theengineer.co.uk/content/news/fossil-fuel-emissions-continue-to-spiral-upwards
Hold on, this is waiting to be approved by The Engineer.
Emissions, emissions? GOOD ! that stock foto probably just shows steam. What is wrong with FF emissions? If you’re referring to an oxide of Carbon, well that is good news for our plants and the greening of the planet. “trees” will grow better, but so also will all our food plants. Makes carbohydrates.

  4. Phoenix44 says:

Arguing whether climate models get clouds right or not is like arguing whether goat entrails get football scores right or not. Climate models get nothing right. They don’t get starting conditions right so even if the models were otherwise perfect they couldn’t forecast accurately. Thry are simplifications of poorly understood processes, run in ways that aren’t how climate works.

Too many words!. Everything works by electromagnetism. We are, the Earth is IN the Sun´s EM field…So the closest analogy is heating your food (containing water in it-same as sea water-) in your kitchen´s microwave oven. EM currents short circuit in water and heats it up!….The rest it is just POLITICS & MONEY!
