    Congratulations. Skeptics rule.

  4. Well done Roger. Pleased to have voted for you. Also, congratulations to JoNova and Climate Audit for which I also voted.

Congratulations, Rog and Tim. Keep up the great work.

  7. dp says:

Hearty congratulations, Roger and team. Very well done and well deserved.

  8. pyromancer76 says:

Congratulations. Your devotion to and tenacity in the pursuit of science has been justly recognized. Thanks for hours of wonderful and very difficult (for me) reading. Now “they” can restore the science and technology category, since people have chosen to read about truths, or the search thereof, under whatever label. Well done.

  9. theyouk says:

    Congratulations–and extremely well-earned!

  10. Wow! Congratulations, Roger … well done … and congrats to other deserving and familiar sites: Small Dead Animals, GWPF, Climate Audit, Jo Nova & WUWT

  11. Aussie says:

    Congratulations Roger. Well done.

  12. Paul says:

Fantastic result Roger, more so after recent disagreements in the sceptical blogosphere.

  13. Well done and well deserved.

  14. wernerkohl says:

Congratulations to you, WUWT, Steve McIntyre, GWPF and Joanne Nova!
    That’s great.

  15. vukcevic says:

    Well done and congrats !

  16. tallbloke says:

    WOOT!

I’m really buoyed up by winning our third successive award. It’s been a tough year one way and another for Tim and myself.

We wouldn’t have been able to continue the blog without your participation, support and enthusiasm for open scientific debate, energy politics and occasional satire. Thank you all.

I just posted this comment over at wuwt:

An appropriate moment to bury the hatchet. Well done Anthony and team, and all category winners, sceptical bloggers and their readers. Here’s to putting good science and good scientific debate on a stronger footing in the coming years.

  17. markstoval says:

    Congratulations.

I trust my vote put you over the top. 🙂

  18. colliemum says:

Congrats, Rog! Outstanding! Hope you had the champagne already put on ice!

Btw – isn’t it great that so many other climate change weblogs also have won awards – especially JoNova and Climate Audit, as well as GWPF and the ‘usual suspect’, WUWT.

  19. tallbloke says:

Thanks Mark and colliemum. It’s terrific to see the level of interest and support climate science orientated blogs have recieved right across the range of categories in this years Bloggies. I think the pressure the usual-usual suspects put on the Bloggies proprietor to drop the ‘Best Science or Technology Weblog’ category in an effort to exclude us has backfired spectacularly!

And yes, I have a bottle of proper French bubbly I recieved as a gift on my birthday in Feb which didn’t get drunk. We’ll crack that open when milady gets back from London later today. 🙂

  20. Jack Savage says:

    Congratulations.

  21. Well done, Rog.

It must make all the effort worth while.

  22. NikFromNYC says:

    You’re welcome.

  23. NikFromNYC says:

Jon makes a great point on WUWT: “The best thing about the Bloggies is that the sneaky way in which they tried to block sceptic websites by shutting down the Science category has rebounded on them. How many categories will they have to close next year?”

  24. Joe Public says:

Congrats to Team Talkshop; and, all the other blogs which espoused climate realism.

Kudos also, for the congratulatory message sent to WUWT.

  25. tallbloke says:

Thanks Joe. The comment didn’t get approved. It was midnight Cali-time when I made it though.

  26. […] TallBloke’sTalkShop won the Best European Weblog. Congrats, Roger. […]

  27. Eclectikus says:

Congrats! And as I said in WUWT, there is another skeptic blog hidden, my blog “Science is Beauty” has won on “best education blog” for second consecutive. Well, is hidden as skeptic because I tend to avoid polemize about some topics, but when I have to do it… I do it openly (and instantly the blog loses a few thousand of followers) 😉

    Cheers!

  28. marchesarosa says:

Great result, Roger. I’ll buy you a pint tomorrow!

  29. sunsettommy says:

    Congratulations!

  30. Steve C says:

Congratulations, TB – another well-deserved plaudit!

I’m still chuckling at how well the sceptical blogs have done, after “They” closed off the sciencey category to keep them (or do I mean “us”?) out. Maybe we should all try for a “full hand” next year … just to annoy them …

  31. R J Salvador says:

    Congratulations, TB!

  32. mkelly says:

Why are you re-listed back to this on WUWT?

Transcendent Rant and way out there theory
    ◾Climate Progress
    ◾Climate Realists
    ◾Tallbloke’s Talkshop

Anthony Watts is free to misjudge us however he pleases.

  34. Chaeremon says:

The dedication, enthusiasm and insight are really inspiring here on tallbloke. I wish the tallbloke team many years of great achievements!

  35. A C Osborn says:

Well done on a much deserved award.

  36. ren says:

Congratulations. It should be cup permanently.

  37. catweazle666 says:

    Nice one Rog!

You must be getting something right!

  38. J Martin says:

No doubt Norse Mythology was a worthy winner of the Religion and Spirituality category, but perhaps we can get a still more worthy Real Climate elected to that podium position next year, also Tamino’s blog seems like it should be a worthy winer of the Most Humurous Weblog !!

Anyone got any other suggestions ?

My congratulations to Rog and Tim.

Anthony Watts is free to misjudge us however he pleases.

True. But he misjudges scientific inquiry then.

  40. G. Watkins says:

    Well done and well deserved.
So many interesting topics from you and Tim and the clever commentators. Open science at its best.

  41. geran says:

You folks run a great blog. Congrats and keep it up!

  42. tallbloke says:

Well with my lady home from her weekend away, all the supportive comments here, and a glass of 10 year old Aberlour in my hand, all is well in the world.

    Cheers everyone, and THANK YOU.

  43. kuhnkat says:

Good job TB and Tim. Well deserved.

  44. tchannon says:

    Notice
Hurled together a new Bloggies banner, left sidebar.

Opinions please, good or bad. Width is theme limited to 250 pixels wide.

    Actually edited together using Inkscape.
Have to try and keep the filesize down, still rather large for a static image. If generally accepted I’ll figure how to optimise filesize to smaller still.

Does it need a banner heading text?

  45. Truthseeker says:

tchannon – the latest accolade should be on “top” of the others, not “underneath” them which is what it looks like now …

  46. tallbloke says:

Nice work Tim, eyecatching angles. I think we should keep the ‘freshly pressed’ badge separate below the bloggies panel and title the whole section ‘Accolades’ as it was before. That way, you can squeeze the 2013 badge downwards, and tuck part of it behind the 2014 panel as Truthseeker suggests, while still keeping enough of it visible. Move the 2012 banner left until the top left corner is the same distance from the side of the panel as the bottom right of the 2013 banner is from the right of the panel, and tuck it under the 2013 badge to just above where it says ‘twelth annual’.Then squeeze up the bottom of the panel so it just overlaps half of the word ‘best’ on the 2012 banner. Then finally, make the ‘2014’ year number a black on white ‘sticker’ (with tight radii on the corners), keep it at the same angle, and move it right until it sits on the same diagonal as the other two year numbers.

    Well you did ask… 🙂

  47. tchannon says:

Truthseeker, ah yes, correct. I was relying more on size, it’s a business card problem, tiny, the most severe test of “in a few words”

  48. tchannon says:

Looks like Inkscape didn’t save, it did go wonky, not exactly the best port to windows. Never mind, easy enough to do it again.

Now I can look at it tomorrow iyswim, not good enough.

Pressly freshed is an odd man out.

  49. tchannon says:

    That better?

    If so I can optimise.

Not sure about 2014 above 2012.
Not sure about the “background” colour or texture but hey! transparent png in use.

  50. Jim S says:

    Congats

  51. myrightpenguin says:

    Congrats Tallbloke.

  52. tallbloke says:

Tim: Much better, thanks for your efforts. The angles draw attention nicely.

  53. tchannon says:

Managed to shrink the file to 12k.

  54. Gail Combs says:

    Congratulations ALL!

I am glad to see the Skeptics won about 1/3 of the blog awards.

  55. Brian H says:

Is there any category where a skeptic blog competed, but didn’t win? Looks like a clean sweep, to me
