Is this really what people want in countries that claim to be democracies?

Then they came for our food supply.

CFACT senior policy analyst Bonner Cohen reports at CFACT.org on “climate czar” John Kerry’s recent pronouncements at a Department of Agriculture summit.

“We can’t get to net-zero,” Kerry said, “we can’t get this job done unless agriculture is front and center as part of the solution. So all of us here understand the depths of this mission.”

“Food systems themselves contribute a significant amount of emissions just in the way we do the things we’ve been doing,” he continued. “With a growing population on the planet – we’ve just crossed the threshold of 8 billion fellow citizens around the world – emissions from the food system alone are expected to cause another half a degree of warming by mid-century.”

Bonner fleshes out what Kerry’s words mean in practice:

‘agriculture is front and centre as part of the solution’ Noh, no N OOOO! I wish that Donkey head would keep it stuck somewhere else.
Life exists on the planet on the planet: FACT ( maybe the bbc will have to verify?). The population has to be fed FACT. Unnecessary consumption and WASTE is also a FACT – but can be reduced. Taxation is not necessary for Life, Donkeyheads type of people are unnecessary. Cannon-fodder is…. …. .. for Life. Economics and Politics is required for a lazy Donkeyheaded type in society. “Food systems themselves ……” SYSTEMS ? whazzat? We lose money on removing a lovely natural product from little animals this now. The sheeppl will rather wear oil based / derive clothes and insulation products. ( Green footprint of Thermal insulation products, anybody? anyone ? Oh! )
“..a growing population on the planet…,” eh? Huh – better go do something about that then, China style or the 3-U style ? ( for the less initiated, that’s the EU, UK & US) and we know what that is this now engaging with a 4 U nation – yet we don’t know or acknowledge the favour a MrP is doing for us. Shame on us.
So never mind the Dept of Agriculture. Gramps tell us t hat waaaaayy back in the late 70’s to early 80’s Europe was producing rubbish food for “Intervention” – not for a final definitive QUALITY market. .. in the name of Food security. Did Quality come in to that ? I could keep going on, but I simply want to sow the seeds for further research.

History repeats itself from 100 years ago or so. The USSR changes agriculture to fit its political ideology and millions starve or are murdered. Now the West repeats the madness.

just one more attack on population to kill off around five or six billion folks, in the meantime to make it hard to get enough calories to be able to travel and protest

Of course Ketchup Boy will continue to eat chateaubriand with his $1000 a bottle table wine no matter how bad it gets.

At a guess they want to buy out, ruin or scare off the small farmers, have a few mega-farming groups, then sit them down and tell them what their new rules of the farming game are.

  6. saighdear says:

Yes, it looks like it, OldBrew, thinking of the Dutch and Canadians. and the Mega Farmers? Cargill et al run by committees, and who’s on them? And now we hear too that the the Like of Insurance ( Pension? ) Funds should be investing in Green Companies ( something @https://joannenova.com.au/2023/05/un-netzero-cartel-wants-to-make-insurance-firms-into-climate-police-but-giants-are-fleeing/ ) and our Rushing Sucker and the Bliar Inst. is also wanting to promote this ? https://youtu.be/ovjmLEFr7OM?t=169 We live in more than challenging times.

  7. oldbrew says:

We’re living in the age of ‘net zero planners’…as they attempt to do things likely to screw up entire countries.

  8. saighdear says:

Oach, just listening to Juli HB with that ( who gave her Title ) Bennett about doubling price of carbon offsets. TREES ….ffs as many say now, we get nothing for planting OUR OWN trees ( which we hope will be more useful to us and local community ( fruit trees with lovely Blossom) Anyway, POINT IS: we have so many self-seeded Sycamores – HOSTS for Aphids. APHIDS on crops, Sap + Expired inflorescencess falling onto and choking vehicle drainage channels ( you’ll soon find out what that is) and so on. Rich & varied wildlife.. and we have already a rich Multi-Culti society – is that not enough?
